Creating a Healthy Morning Routine

By Alexis Mills

The way that you start your day consistently has a tremendous effect on your health. It sets the mood for the whole day, starting a little schedule in the morning that can set you up for a healthy and productive day. And if done consistently, it can help you adopt patterns that will help you work toward your best self.

When deciding what you want your morning routine to consist of, you have to think about what is realistic for you and whether you have 15 minutes or an hour to spare in the morning; there is no right or wrong, and what works for each person is different. Gaining control over your mornings will help you get necessary things done, and position you to be able to move forward with ease throughout your life. Here are some ideas of what you can try to incorporate into your morning routine whether it is all of it or just a few things. I promise it will help you.

Let Your Mind Wander

For just five minutes in the morning let your mind wake up and think about the day ahead positively before you actually get out of bed. Don't reach for your phone; instead, let your mind think about the day ahead and what you want to accomplish.

Make Your Bed and Drink Water

Making your bed when you first wake up sets your day up for order; drinking a glass of water when you first wake up lets your organs wake up efficiently. To add an extra boost to your water, you can add lemon and ginger to help your digestive system.

Exercise

Whether you do a five-minute stretching session, an hour of cardio, or some at-home yoga, it will help the body move with more energy throughout the day. Exercising helps boost your mood, wake up faster, and stay motivated throughout the day. Exercise does so much for us other than keeping an attractive figure.

Listen to Uplifting Music

Put on music that you enjoy listening to can always put you in a good mood. Whether it's when you are getting ready, making breakfast, or while working out -- having the background music will make your morning routine more enjoyable and leave you feeling energized.

Get Ready

No matter what lies ahead for your day, always get ready in clean clothes and make yourself presentable. This will make you feel better and ready to accomplish what lies in the day ahead.

Do A Task You Usually Put Off

Accomplishing something that is usually difficult or dreaded for you will make you feel accomplished early on in the day. Once you have to do simpler tasks it will feel more doable.

Getting a hold over your morning routine will help you achieve a healthier lifestyle, lose extra weight, and be more productive in everyday life. Try some new steps in your morning routine to see what works for you and what doesn't to maximize your morning.
