Meet The Doctors
Dr. Curtis Kempel was born and raised in Freeport, Illinois and received his Bachelor of Science at Northern Illinois University in 2007. He worked as an MRI technologist in his 20s and injured his lower back while working at the hospital. He was found to have herniated his L5 disc and after weeks of physical therapy with little improvement he went to a chiropractor. He felt more pain relief and improved mobility after 1 adjustment than 8 PT sessions. After a few weeks of chiropractic adjustments, his pain was gone and he started getting adjusted on a regular basis to keep back pain away and stay injury free. This led to him attending Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA where he graduated Cum Laude and was also nationally certified in physiotherapy. After graduating, Dr. Kempel worked at medically integrated clinics. While these clinics have their place, their treatment tends to be controlled by insurance companies that cost patients more money and time than clinically necessary. While attending The Joint as a patient, Dr. Kempel not only recognized how much more patient friendly The Joint was than insurance driven clinics, but also found the model much more in line with his ethical standards. Dr. Kempel believes in The Joint Chiropractic so much he decided to quit the insurance driven model and open his own Joint Chiropractic clinic.
Dr. Katelyn Helfvogt is a Marengo native that graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors Degree in Health and Human Sciences. From there, she graduated top of her class as Valedictorian from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2017. Dr. Katie loves working with kids, pregnant women, and families to help them live their healthiest lives possible. She is Webster Technique Certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. When she’s not working you can find her doing all the family things, baking, and being active around the community.
Dr. Caleb Vosters was born and raised in Janesville, Wisconsin. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Illinois State University and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While at Palmer Dr. Caleb was involved in leadership roles for several technique clubs on campus and helps staff seminars on his weekends off. Dr. Caleb enjoys working with people of all ages. When Dr. Caleb isn’t working he enjoys playing hockey and watching the Green Bay Packers.
