Meet The Doctors

Dr. Robert Sheets, D.C. is a Chiropractor, Clinic Director at Springfield Southeast

Dr. Rob’s journey into chiropractic care began with his own experiences as an athlete. Frequently injured while playing sports, he sought relief through massage therapy and chiropractic care rather than relying on medications. The fast and effective results he experienced sparked his passion for helping others get back to doing what they love—whether it's sports, hobbies, or work.

Dr. Rob takes a personalized approach to care, tailoring treatment plans based on each patient’s history, job, hobbies, and injury type. His goal is to help patients feel better and return to their activities as quickly as possible. One of his most memorable success stories involved a patient who initially sought treatment for low back pain but was thrilled to discover that, after just a few visits, they could play pickleball again for the first time in years—without knee pain.

Committed to staying at the forefront of chiropractic advancements, Dr. Rob completes continuing education every couple of years as required by the Chiropractic Board in Missouri. He selects specialized conferences to enhance his expertise and learn new techniques. In addition to general chiropractic care, he has completed extra training focused on working with athletes and even animals.

For those new to chiropractic care, Dr. Rob advises against relying on online videos, as they can sometimes give misleading impressions. His approach is patient-focused, ensuring each individual understands the process and benefits of chiropractic adjustments.

Dr. Rob earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland Park, Kansas. Over time, he has adapted his practice to serve a wide range of patients, including those who have never seen a chiropractor before.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Rob enjoys reading science fiction, playing tennis, and gaming with his friends back home. He lives by the mantra, “What goes around comes around,” believing in the power of positive energy and good intentions.

Dr. Clint Morrow, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Springfield Southeast

Dr. Morrow’s path to chiropractic care was different from most. He knew he wanted a career in healthcare but wanted his patients to be excited about their visits, not dreading them. Becoming an MD didn’t feel like the right fit, but after seeing how much people loved visiting his friends’ fathers—both chiropractors—he knew he had found his calling.

At The Joint Chiropractic, Dr. Morrow tailors each patient’s treatment plan based on their exam findings and personal goals. With over 24 years in practice, he has helped countless patients achieve life-changing results. Some of his most memorable cases include two high school athletes whose doctors told them their seasons were over—only for them to return to competition within weeks after treatment. Another unforgettable success story involved a woman who had suffered from chronic low back pain for years. After a few months of care, not only was her pain gone, but she also discovered she was pregnant—something she and her husband had been told was impossible.

He advises first-time chiropractic patients to ask questions, communicate their goals, and ensure they understand their condition and treatment plan. He also reminds them that long-standing issues take time to correct—healing doesn’t happen in just one visit.

Originally from Marshall, Missouri, Dr. Morrow attended the University of Missouri before earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic. His career began in Arizona, where he worked for a personal injury group treating auto and work-related injuries, eventually becoming the clinic director of the Tempe office. In 2006, he moved to Colorado, where he owned and operated Morrow Chiropractic for 16 years. While selling his practice was difficult, he felt it was time to return home. In 2022, he moved to Columbia to be closer to family and became the clinic director at The Joint Chiropractic. He has loved every moment of it, treating a growing number of amazing patients.

Dr. Morrow has faced many of the same challenges as other chiropractors—skepticism about the profession, insurance reimbursement struggles, and the occasional case where a patient doesn't respond to care. But he approaches every case with 100% effort and passion, knowing he’s making a difference. In 2007, he became a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician to better serve his athletic patients. Looking ahead, he hopes to continue helping as many people as possible while mentoring young chiropractors to be the best in the field.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Morrow enjoys all things outdoors, from hunting and fishing to farm life. A fun fact about him—he’s a Clash of Clans enthusiast and was once ranked #10 in the world!

Dr. Bruce MacDonald, D.C. is a Clinic Director, Chiropractor at Springfield Southeast

Dr. Mac’s journey into chiropractic care began with a personal experience. After suffering from severe middle back pain, he found relief through a student doctor at the University of Western States. With a combination of adjustments and postural retraining, his pain was 80% better in just a few visits. This transformative experience, combined with his passion for helping others, led him to pursue chiropractic as a career. As a father of six, he has provided chiropractic care for his children from birth to adulthood, shaping his diverse and adaptable approach to treating patients at any stage of life.

Dr. Mac takes a personalized approach to care by checking in with patients about their daily activities, work, and specific functional goals. He believes in modifying and adapting treatments to ensure the best possible outcomes for each individual. One of his most memorable success stories involved a patient who had been receiving chiropractic care from a friend but had seen little improvement. After learning about the patient’s history—an old softball injury from sliding into a base—Dr. Mac made a key adjustment to the pelvis. For the first time in 11 years, the patient was able to cross his right leg again.

To stay up to date with the latest advancements, Dr. Mac regularly attends seminars, reads journals, and participates in continuing education. He emphasizes that chiropractic care is a non-invasive process that restores proper mobility and function to the body’s spine, joints, and muscles. He encourages patients to stay consistent with treatment for the best long-term results.

Dr. Mac earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. From an early age, he had a natural inclination to help those around him—even “adjusting” family members before he was formally trained. With encouragement from his wife, friends, and family, he pursued chiropractic education and honed his skills professionally. His experiences as a father, including assisting in the delivery of two of his children, have given him a unique perspective on maternal and infant care, allowing him to tailor treatments to new mothers and babies.

Practicing during the COVID-19 pandemic presented its own challenges, but Dr. Mac adapted by ensuring a safe environment while continuing to help patients through difficult times. He holds certifications in Graston Technique/IASTM and chiropractic sports medicine, further enhancing his ability to treat a wide range of conditions. His goal is to continue providing excellent, consistent, and efficient care to the Springfield community and beyond.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Mac enjoys nature, the outdoors, and traveling—especially cruising to destinations outside the U.S. He has a deep love for the ocean and finds peace being near the water. A big fan of classic literature and cinema, he resonates deeply with Les Misérables, particularly its themes of redemption, sacrifice, and love. He also draws inspiration from the poem No Man is an Island by John Donne, which reminds him of the interconnectedness of all people.

A self-proclaimed nerd, Dr. Mac’s enthusiasm for Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and all things sci-fi and fantasy is unmistakable.

Dr. Aspen Hernandes, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Springfield Southeast

Dr. Hernandes' journey into chiropractic care began with a personal experience at age 14. After suffering from persistent back pain and trying multiple treatments with little success, it was chiropractic care that finally provided relief. That transformative moment inspired a lifelong passion for holistic healing and led to a career dedicated to helping others experience the same life-changing results.

This personal connection to pain management has shaped Dr. Hernandes' approach to patient care. Empathy and understanding are at the core of every interaction. Rather than simply focusing on pain relief, Dr. Hernandes prioritizes getting to the root cause of discomfort and uncovering the deeper motivations behind each patient’s visit—whether it’s regaining mobility, maintaining an active lifestyle, or simply being able to enjoy daily life without pain.

One of Dr. Hernandes’ most memorable success stories involves a hardworking mother who worked as a college cleaner. She suffered from numbness in her hands and arms, a classic sign of thoracic outlet syndrome. After just a few targeted chiropractic sessions, she experienced significant relief—allowing her to return to work, care for her family, and live without constant discomfort. Seeing this transformation reaffirmed Dr. Hernandes' belief in the power of chiropractic care to restore function and quality of life.

Dr. Hernandes earned a degree from Cleveland University-Kansas City, where expertise in chiropractic care was refined. Before becoming a chiropractor, a background in fitness and wellness as a group fitness instructor and wellness specialist fostered a deep understanding of movement, exercise, and musculoskeletal health. Certified in both Activator and Thomas techniques, Dr. Hernandes ensures precision-based, effective adjustments.

The philosophy is simple yet powerful: "Try it—you don’t know what you don’t know." Encouraging people to explore chiropractic care can open the door to unexpected benefits, beyond just pain relief. Looking ahead, Dr. Hernandes aims to continue helping patients achieve a pain-free, active life while increasing public awareness about the full-body health benefits of chiropractic care and educating communities on preventive wellness and the importance of proactive spinal health.

Outside of work, Dr. Hernandes enjoys staying active through exercise and hiking, exploring local restaurants and stores while supporting small businesses, and building Legos, a favorite pastime that reflects a love for detail and creativity.

A favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and a guiding quote is, “Treat others as you would like to be treated” – The Golden Rule.
