Dr, Robert Sheets first joined The Joint Chiropractic family in San Jose, CA and then relocated to Springfield, MO in 2020 as the full time Clinic Director. Dr. Robert, as he prefers to be called, earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Cleveland Chiropractic College.
Dr. Robert was raised in San Francisco CA, and ventured to Hendrix College in Conway AR. There he majored in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Exercise Science, and played on the D3 Tennis team. It was at this time when he first discovered Chiropractic; “I hurt my shoulder playing tennis and while I was able to get temporary relief through the athletic trainers care or NSAIDS, Chiropractic care is what enabled me to play for the rest of my college career.”
Dr. Robert says the best thing about being in the Chiropractic field is “The wide variety of patients that I can see, you never know what is going to walk through the door.” When not working, Dr. Robert states his two favorite hobbies are “Playing Tennis and reading Sci-Fi books with some of my favorite authors being Robert Jordan, Ilona Andrews, and Jim Butcher”.
What he likes most about working at The Joint is, “The open bay system because both the patients and the doctors are able to easily communicate among each other instead of everyone being isolated in their own rooms.”
In Case you Didn’t Know
Dr. Robert says the one thing he always keeps in his refrigerator is “either fries or tots in my freezer just because they are my most common thing I use. I always enjoy making some loaded fries, burgers, or just making them for a snack.”
One of the coolest things he has ever done was “I went swimming with whale sharks in Cabo a couple years ago and it was really cool to be in the same vicinity of such a massive animal. And it’s amazing how fast they can swim while making it look so effortless.”
Dr. Thomas H. Green joined The Joint Chiropractic’s family of healthcare providers in November 2020 upon the opening of the new Springfield, MO location. A graduate of University of Utah he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, his doctorate in chiropractic at Life Chiropractic College and went on to earn a diplomat in acupuncture at Logan University.
Dr. Green, as he likes to be called, loves helping families through chiropractic and patient education.
“I love seeing the results of routine care and the positive effects it has in other areas of another person’s life than just relieving pain. Less pain means more life. I feel like I’m making a difference,” he says. “The other thing I love about our profession is I would never ask a patient to do something I wouldn’t do myself so I so while I’ve been helping others, I’ve been able to use my knowledge to help myself and make better health choices.”
A product of Springfield Illinois, Dr. Green previously worked in the Missouri city of Springfield and has helped many other families and children in his work abroad in Belize.
When he’s not looking after his 3 chihuahuas Pablo, Bonnie and Clyde, Dr. Green enjoys reading, studying and playing golf.
He says he knew chiropractic was his calling when he went to a chiropractor and was relieved from 3 years of burning back pain from one chiropractic treatment from an 84 year old Hole in one guy. “I was hooked and knew I had to do this for others,” he says.
Dr. Green loves serving as the local chiropractor in Springfield. “The people here are nice, active and there is always something going on around town,” he says.
In Case You Didn’t Know
If Dr Green could have perfect dinner party with four famous people, he would sit down with Bigham Young, Ladean Griffin, Robert Oppenheimer and Nero. The questions he would ask are; To Bigham young: where did you get the information that you preached to your followers? To Ladean Griffin: How did you formulate your style of teaching and healing. To Robert Oppenheimer: Are you Proud to be called the father of the atomic bomb and do you think your discovery stopped the Nazis from inventing it? And lastly to Nero: What made you so mean, was it your mom and who taught you how to play the fiddle?
One of the most amazing experiences of his life took place doing a chiropractic adjustment on a 27 year old half deaf and crippled man. A after an adjustment to his atlas he got his hearing back.
