4 Tips to Get Your Body Ready for Summer
By Virginia Laird
Just imagine yourself lounging on a beautiful beach (or out by a serene swimming pool), surrounded by crystal blue water, a warm summer breeze seems to make the palm trees sway, without any cares at all. While falling in love with this dream, you may be apprehensive to make this a reality due to your lack of being swimsuit ready. If you haven't already begun whipping your body into shape, it isn't too late. Health and wellness experts offer several tips to help you begin getting your body beach ready, including:
- Plank every day
- Consider burpees
- Do a few push-ups daily
- Jump some rope
Plank Every Day
Planks have long been praised as one of the very best exercises for the core. This is in part because it is a low-stress exercise. Health and wellness experts advise that planking regularly can offer fast results for the abs. For those unfamiliar with this specific exercise, it is always best to check out proper techniques before beginning the workout.
Consider Burpees
Burpees are a great exercise which offers toning for the entire body. While you many not have participated in this exercise since grade school, it is great for people of all ages. Fitness instructors across the nation favor this workout as one which can offer results rapidly. As always, knowing how to properly execute the exercise is vital to avoid injury.
Do a Few Push-Ups Daily
Push-ups are my least favorite exercise. However, they are great for building upper body strength. There are few group exercise class instructors who will avoid push-ups as part of their workout. Health and wellness professionals advise that while these are excellent to build strength and tone the arms, it is imperative to use proper technique. Push-ups, when done using incorrect form, can be detrimental to the back.
Jump Some Rope
While jumping rope may seem elementary, it offers great cardio. This exercise has long proven to be great in promoting heart health. Health and wellness experts advise that this workout can also be kept fun, exciting, and challenging with a host of ways to complete it.
Adding just a few of these exercises can help you begin to make progress quickly. Like any workout, determination and perseverance are what produce long-term results. Now is the time to make it happen. Get moving and good luck!
