What Causes Low Back Pain?

Every day our backs are required to be active. Our backs help us bend and lift, they help us twist and simply move. You never quite realize how important a healthy back is until something goes wrong. Almost all of us have had to deal with back pain at one point in our lives or another. Lower back pain is especially frustrating to deal with as it aches and can prevent you from doing even the most simple of tasks. It is extremely common to have lower back pain. That area of our back is one of the most vulnerable, making it more prone to injury than any other area of the back.
One of the biggest reasons why we end up in lower back pain is due to the fact that we often overwork our lower back. You've likely been told multiple times that you are supposed to lift things using your legs. Quite often we're in a rush and use our lower back to pick things up. This can cause back strains, which brings with it pain and discomfort. It's also possible that there is a spinal restriction that is causing the pain. If the vertebrae are out of place and their movement is restricted, the rest of the back can be affected.
Fixing Lower Back Pain
Now that you know why your lower back is in pain, how do you fix it? The good news is there are a number of things you can do to help reduce, or eliminate, lower back pain. Many times lower back pain is caused by your hamstrings being too tight. Stretching helps release the pressure and can help your lower back feel better. In order to do this stretch, place your legs and feet together and keep your knees unbent. Then bend at your waist until you are able to touch your toes. This stretches the hamstrings and is a good way to find relief from lower back pain during your workday.
