Tea Every Day Keeps the Doctor Away

By Randi Morse

As soon as the weather starts to turn cold, I start to crave a cup of tea. A hot cup of tea is a classic home remedy against the cold or flu. But tea isn't just for when you're sick. There are plenty of amazing health qualities you can get from a good cup of tea. But ntwo teas alike, so which teas are the most beneficial for your health?

Green Tea

Green tea has been around a very long time. The taste is earthy and a little grassy, and if you ever had nori, or seaweed, you'll recognize a bit of that flavor as well. Green tea is amazing for our bodies because it helps to improve blood circulation. In improving circulation, it helps to lower the risk of heart attacks and other types of heart diseases. Green tea has anti-inflammatory properties that also help to lower blood pressure. Because green tea helps to boost metabolism, it may help you to lose weight. There are even some studies that have shown that green tea might prevent certain cancerous cells from replicating.

White Tea

A study was done that showed if you have four or more cups of white tea every day, you can lower the chance that you will develop type 2 diabetes. Because white tea is only minimally processed, it has a lower caffeine content than most other teas. The flavor is best described as a bit floral and very delicate.

Black Tea

Black tea is also well known for having many health benefits. People often drink black tea, such as an English breakfast black tea, rather than a cup of coffee in the morning. This is because there is an amino acid in black tea that helps to slow the caffeine absorption in your body. This gives you a great amount of energy without having to deal with any caffeine-drop jitters.

Ginger Tea

Finally, we have ginger tea, which is known around the world for its anti nausea properties. Ginger works so well against nausea that you can often find it in a wide array of other types of products. If you want to beat back nausea quickly, it's best to have ginger tea as it is known to decrease inflammation in the abdomen.

Make tea a relaxing experience for yourself. Brew a nice cup of your favorite tea and make it a little fancy by putting it in a nice teacup with something a little extra in it, for example if you're going to have ginger tea you could put a lemon slice in it for a burst of flavor and a beautiful presentation.
