Simple Steps to Regain Health
By Sara Butler
Most people need to take steps to improve their health by making it a priority. If you don’t have good health then everything you want to accomplish in life can become a challenge. By focusing on your health you can move closer to achieving your professional and personal goals. Here are some easy steps you can take to regain your health!
Move More and Sit Less
Human bodies are made to move, not sit at a desk or in a recliner for several hours a day. Your caveman ancestors sure didn’t have a La-Z-Boy! Now, spending a large portion of your day in motion doesn’t mean you need to take up jogging as a hobby, it simply means you should work walking and moving in general into your daily routine. You should aim to raise your heart rate for at least 30 minutes a day, four days a week as well. Take frequent breaks during your day to get up and move around.
Get Some Sleep
Sleep is probably the most undervalued behavior in your life. It’s seen as a luxury by many people but it’s also one of the biggest changes you can make to improve your health. If you get less than six hours of sleep at night you need to try to get more. Everyone should aim for at least seven hours a night in order to feel more energized, mentally clear and emotionally resilient.
Take Interference Out of the Picture
When you see your chiropractor and receive an adjustment they are reducing and eliminating the pressure put on your nerves by misalignments in your spine. This can help to reduce pain, fatigue and restore normal function to your nervous system. When your body is able to communicate without interference it makes a big difference in how you feel every day.
Eat Less, More Frequently
Food is your body’s fuel and you need real fuel for your body, not processed stuff that is more laboratory chemicals than food. Make sure you get plenty of lean protein, fruits, vegetables, and complex carbohydrates throughout the day. Eating smaller meals more frequently may also help you to stay energized all day long, helping to keep your blood sugar stable.
If you have questions about some other ways in which you can regain your health you should discuss it with your chiropractor during your next adjustment at The Joint Chiropractic!
