Is Insomnia a Problem? Try These Tips!
By Genevieve Cunningham
Do you suffer from insomnia? If the answer is yes, you're definitely not unique. Studies show that most adults actually don't get enough sleep. We toss and turn and have trouble falling asleep. And if you can fall asleep, you certainly can't stay asleep, right? It's frustrating. But even more than frustrating, it's bad for our health! A lack of sleep can lead to irritability, aches and pains, brain fog, and more. Luckily, there are ways to deal with insomnia, some of which are incredibly effective. If you're ready to sleep well, take a look at these tips for ending the insomnia problem for good.
Focus on Food
Your diet affects everything, sleep included. If we don't eat well, it can contribute to our inability to fall or stay asleep. Sometimes it's because we consume too much caffeine. Other times it's because we eat too much junk and our bodies aren't satisfied. No matter what is keeping you awake, improving your diet can help. If your diet is all junk, you'll need to overhaul everything, but start with something simple. Limit caffeine consumption. Add vegetables to your lunch and dinner. Skip late night snacking. As you make changes and your diet improves, you may find that your sleep improves right along with it.
End the Tech Addiction
Technology is great. We love it. We love the convenience and the instant communication and the ability to ease boredom with the click of a button. But let's not pretend like there aren't any downsides to modern technology. In fact, one of the biggest downsides is that it messes up our schedules and interrupts sleep. Along with the pull to stare at our phones late into the night, the light from the screen all day long messes with our eyes and brain. If you want to sleep better, you'll have to manage this addiction. Cut back on technology use, especially in the evening and night, and it's possible that your sleep will start improving right away.

Chiropractic care is already known for its ability to manage pain, especially pain in the back and neck. But as many are finding out, it can also help you sleep. The most obvious reason why it might lead to better sleep is because of the pain relief. When our bodies are more comfortable, they rest better. But another reason why it may help is because an unhealthy spine, one that is full of tension and restrictions, can actually cause insomnia. If we heal our spines, we might heal the insomnia at the source too! There's no doubt that there are many reasons why insomnia plagues us, but adding chiropractic care to your routine can only bring positive changes to your health.
