Chiropractic May Prevent Low Back Surgery
When it comes to having strong back pain, it does not take long to decide that you want relief and you want it fast. When you do not get that relief quickly, it is time to choose between going to a doctor and going to a chiropractor.
For severe back pain, going to a doctor will almost certainly mean taking strong medication, and possibly getting surgery or some other medical intervention, if the problem is serious. Unfortunately, surgery and other methods do not always work.
Besides the fact that it may not work, there are also a lot of other potential problems you want to think about before going that route. Surgery will rarely be the first option, but when a doctor deems it to be the solution you need, there are many possible things you want to consider.
In any case, if you get medical treatment in the form of surgery, which admittedly could help, you still can expect ongoing pain. In addition, you will have to deal with having to take strong drugs, needing recovery time from the surgery, and risking the possibility that it may not help at all.
On the other hand, a chiropractor will look at the cause of the problem, and then may be able to correct it that day. Back pain is often caused by an action on your part that brings about a misalignment of your vertebrae. This is what often causes the pain.
The chiropractor will seek to realign your vertebrae, which can often eliminate the pain almost immediately. This means you don't need drugs, and the increased blood flow should help to enable faster healing. Certain exercises will also be recommended to strengthen those back muscles, and some supplements, to increase your general health.
If a chiropractor should determine that medical help is needed, they will gladly recommend that you see a doctor. An x-ray will be taken to be able to correctly identify the problem. If you could get quick relief without drugs or surgery, isn’t it worth it to try the easier road?
