Ways To Balance Your Life with a Chiropractor’s Help

We all tend to have several projects cooking at once. Our jobs, our families and our own personal time for workouts and excursions seldom match up perfectly, but usually we make it all work somehow. Along the way I have learned to use good resources to make everything work better. If you develop good shopping sources, good repair, service and cleaning contacts, and good community resources, most of life’s events can be kept running.

When the plumbing breaks down or you have to suddenly whip up a family birthday party, you have someone to call.

But what happens when your body lets down?

Regular exercise and checkups can do a lot to keep you strong and on track. But sometimes a long weekend hiking and camping, or several nonstop work sessions can leave you and your body limping. I have run into this often and never quite solved it until I started looking for better answers.

I watched a friend of mine, who runs her own business, handle this easily as she enlisted her doctor and her chiropractor’s assistance to keep her life up to speed. Together the three of them evaluated where she was, and then planned a program to put her where she should be. Her visit to the chiropractor included a spinal adjustment to evaluate the health of her spine, and a discussion of her medical history and daily activities.

Her ongoing doctor’s checkups and regular visits to the chiropractor gradually developed into a program that also included a nutritionist, a set of yoga poses for relaxation at home, and regular strength exercises for the gym. Then she added morning walks and occasional runs when she could fit them in.

My friend had been a little overweight and always too busy, but she gradually reduced her weight and improved her schedule. By looking at the whole picture she and her doctor and her chiropractor probably helped her avoid some injuries along the way. Now when she feels a twinge in her back or her neck, she talks with her chiropractor and gets the situation solved early rather than late. She has also run into some lower back pain when she tried to do too many tasks at home and neck pain following some long computer sessions. Now when work overloads start to creep back up, she starts enlisting extra help to level things out before it becomes overwhelming. And when household tasks pile up she brings in some extra help.

No one has all of the answers, but a little preventive assistance from your doctor and your chiropractor could go quite a ways in helping you balance your life. If you or someone in your family needs some help balancing everything make an appointment now.
