Best Times to Drink Water
These are the best times to drink water to increase its overall benefit.
- After waking up - Right when you wake up in the morning, the first thing you should do is drink a cold glass of water. This hydrates the body, activates the internal organs, and lets the body wake up with you.
- After you work out - When working out, you are sweating, which dehydrates you, and your heart rate is raised. Drinking water helps you cool down, rehydrate, and bring your heart rate down.
- A half-hour before a meal - Drinking a little bit before a meal fills your stomach, which will aid in digestion and likely prevent you from eating as much as you might otherwise. Drinking beforehand helps give the body time to absorb the nutrients it needs.
- Before taking a bath - Right before you take a shower or a bath, drinking a glass of warm water helps to lower your blood pressure levels.
- Before going to bed - Before you go to bed, drinking water helps replenish any water that you lost throughout the day.
- When you feel sick - The first sign that you may be getting sick is when you should pour yourself a glass of H2O to help facilitate the body's functioning.
- When you feel tired - If you need a pick-me-up, a glass of water will help you recharge your system.
- When surrounded by sick people - If you know there are people around you that are sick, drinking water may help the infection not settle into the body.
Water is the most essential thing for all of us to consume, but it's important to realize when you are drinking too much (unlikely) or not enough (probable) of it. Too much water can equally affect the body poorly, just as much as not drinking enough. What gives us life can also be fatal to us. It can cause low metabolism, low mental clarity, insomnia, headaches, shift in blood pressure, and mood swings. This is why listening to your body and learning as much as you can about health is so important.
