3 Things to Remember for Ultimate Weight Loss

By Genevieve Cunningham

There aren't many people out there who are perfectly happy with their weight. Most people want to lose a few (or many!) pounds. They want more defined muscles and a trimmer waist. They want to fit into a smaller clothing size. And perhaps most important of all, they want to feel better about themselves. But let's not sugarcoat the truth: Losing weight is hard. The good news is that it's possible, and it becomes a little easier if you keep some simple truths in mind. If you’re ready to finally lose some weight, take a look at these important things to remember.

Diet is Most Important

No one wants to hear it, but it's absolutely true. When it comes to losing weight, diet is king. The food that you put in your body makes up who you are. Eating veggies and drinking water? It’ll show. Eating donuts and drinking soda? That’ll also show. If you're serious about weight loss, always remember that your menu is the best place to start.

Exercise Won’t Work Miracles

It's really important to keep your expectations realistic. While exercise can absolutely transform your body, it won't create miracles. Make sure that your approach is slow and steady. Make sure that you are working toward the best you and not toward someone else's version of health. If you are realistic and persistent, it may be possible to reach your goals, or even to surpass them.

Consistency is the Key to Success

If there's one constant truth in any weight loss method, it's this: You have to stick with it. One day of clean eating and one week of exercise simply won't cut it. It takes hard work day in and day out to actually see results. This is the biggest reason that people fail in their weight loss journey ... they give up too soon! Stick with the play day in and day out, and you’ll reach your goals on time.

Weight loss is hard. We don't like to admit it, but losing weight is one of the hardest parts of living healthy. It's a journey, a path, and a really tough one. But you can absolutely do it! Keep these important ideas in mind while on your quest, and you’re more likely to be a success story with your weight, health, and life.
