If Your Spine Could Talk What Would It Say About You?
By Sandy Schroeder
If your spine could talk, it might say good things, or it might raise questions. It is easy to think of our muscles, bones and spine as a complete package that does our bidding. That usually works until something happens.
Low back pain, increasingly sore knees, or a very stiff neck can show up and demand attention. Or it could be a sore elbow, wrist, ankle, hand or foot. Pain medications, hot showers, or heating pads arrive and we slow down.
But before we go further, we should look at those spinal comments.
Here are things the spine might say about you:
- “Well, she smokes and I get a lot less oxygen than I need.”
- “He really needs to get up off that chair and get moving.”
- “She worries nonstop and I feel every bit of it.”
- “He eats like crazy, and it’s all of the wrong stuff.”
- “She focuses on her face way more than she does on me.”
- “He is very careless about lifting, and totes way too much.”
The spinal comments may or may not fit, but the message is clear. Keeping the spine healthy is be extremely important.
Finding Help
If you agree, stop by The Joint Chiropractic clinic near you. When you come in, you will find a vibrant wellness center. The Joint staff of licensed chiropractors see everyone from teens to seniors. Some are seeking immediate pain relief. Others need help with wellness issues.
When you come in, your chiropractor will ask about any pain that you are having, your regular routines, and your medical history. The goal will be to seek to help you find pain relief and ongoing wellness without using pain medications or surgery.
You may have sore knees, an aching back, or stiff neck. Or your ankles, elbows, hands or feet may be complaining. Your chiropractor will start where you are. If it seems beneficial, an adjustment will be used to relieve restrictions. The adjustment is accomplished through the gentle application of a targeted movement to improve motion of the body’s spinal column and extremities. This may produce far-reaching pain relief, and a host of other wellness benefits, such as more mental clarity, fresh energy, or better sleep.
Together, you and your chiropractor can assess your results and plan for any needed treatment.
If this sounds like a resource that you would like to know more about, stop by The Joint Chiropractic clinic near you. The Joint’s affordable care program eliminates the need for insurance, and weekend and evening hours are available. No appointments are needed.
