Avoid These Chemicals in Your Every Day Life
Chemicals are everywhere, and they are causing a lot more harm to our health than everyone first thought. While you can’t rid your whole life of chemicals and health dangers, you can drastically decrease them. Here are some harmful products to get rid of and stop using today for better health.
Perfumes
You use them to draw in the opposite sex, but the harmful chemicals used in perfumes can be dangerous for all. When inhaled, perfumes and colognes can cause dizziness, nausea, drowsiness, irritation to vital body parts, like the throat, eyes, and lungs, headaches, and even kidney damage. Who knew smelling good came with such a high price?
Mattresses
There are many mattresses that contain high levels of a compound called PBDE. Exposure to this had been linked to brain and reproductive damage and thyroid problems. Think about how much time you spend in bed. You don’t want a mattress with these harmful compounds. It might be time to invest in a new mattress that does not contain toxic substances.
Cleaning Products
You use cleaning products to get the house clean, but they could be doing your house and health more harm than good. You can easily make your own natural cleaning products or find cleaners that are more natural and better for health.
Plastic Food Containers and Bottles
Plastic containers are made with chemicals such as phthalates. Phthalates can interfere with the body’s endocrine system. Glass bottles and containers are always a better choice since the harmful chemicals in plastic can easily leak into your food or beverage.
Deodorant
Again, smelling good could put your health at risk. Many deodorants have been made with aluminum. This ingredient has been debated as to whether it contributes to the development of breast cancer. It is hard to say, but it is better to find a natural solution for smelly armpits.
Canned Food
Most canned food containers contain BPA, which is a chemical that can mess with your hormones. It has been linked to male infertility, heart disease, and diabetes. Some companies use BPA-free cans, but most do not. It is better to switch to fresh or frozen food.
Chemicals are everywhere, but limiting your exposure can help give your health the upper hand. The best way to avoid the most chemicals is to live more simply, avoiding any items that come with a scent and by making your own simple, natural products.
