Gym Equipment You Can Make Yourself

Working out is an important part of being healthy. The problem is, many people do not like to go to the gym, especially when they first start working out. They may feel self-conscious or awkward, being around people while working out.

An alternative is to buy gym equipment. The problem with this is that gym equipment can be a bit expensive. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on gym equipment to workout, though. You can make your own equipment with everyday objects.

With very little cost to you, you can get an excellent workout, and keep yourself fit and healthy. Here are just a few things to try.

Training Bag

Having a training bag is a great way to build endurance, improve your cardio and tone your muscles. Buying a training bag can be quite expensive, even pushing upwards of $300. There is no reason that you should spend that kind of money on a training bag. Instead, fill the inner tube of an old truck tire with rubber mulch and wood pellets. Tie it securely so nothing comes out and you have an excellent training bag.

Water Ball

Instead of purchasing sandbags or medicine balls, you can still get a great workout through the use of a water ball. It will cost you less than $10, and all you need to do is to buy an exercise ball and fill it with water. Make sure it is the type that can handle water, so it doesn’t burst open on you.

Hand Weights

The small hand weight is a great way to tone the muscles while you are walking, or just doing some light cardio. The great thing about hand weights is that while they can cost $30 or more at the store, you can actually make them for next to nothing at home. Just take some empty milk jugs and fill them with water or sand. Easy to make, excellent to use and costs you nothing.

Yoga Blocks

If you are doing yoga, you want to make sure you are doing it in a way that is going to prevent injuries. Yoga blocks are a great way to prevent injury by reducing stress in various poses. You don’t need to spend $20 or $30 on yoga blocks, sometimes more, when you can just cut a piece of wood to be 3 inches by 5.5 inches by 9 inches. Sand the edges and you have a great yoga block.

Who knew that some of the top and expensive exercise equipment pieces could be made inexpensively? Try out these simple exercise hacks to save money and build muscle.
