We need them to pump blood and oxygen throughout our bodies … we need them to be alive! Considering their great importance in our overall health and function, it’s a wonder we don’t pay them a little more individual attention. OK, this is not a habit to start, but rather a habit to stop. Now! If you want a healthy heart, smoking cannot be a part of your life. Smoking places a great deal of pressure on your heart, as well as constricts your blood vessels. If there’s one way to ensure an unhealthy heart, this is definitely it. Along with aging your lungs, skin, and teeth, smoking is a sure-fire way to harm your heart. Buy some gum, see a doctor, and get smoking out of your life for good.
If you don’t do some sort of cardio, you should start today. Cardio not only enhances heart health, but also builds strong lungs and keeps your weight manageable. Need some ideas? Why don’t you try a simple walking routine? If you need something tougher, add jogging, sprints, hiking, or join a fun aerobics class. There are so many options out there, so choose something you like and get to it!

Stress is a natural and normal part of life. But if you’re not careful, it can also take over your health. To keep stress levels to a minimum, try some stress reducing techniques every day. Things like hot showers, engagement in a hobby, and plenty of physical exercise can lower levels significantly. It’s also a good idea to learn time management, learn to say no, and make plenty of time for yourself.
