  • Onions also have anti-inflammatory properties, specifically in their qauntity of quercitin, which is a compound that may also have cancer-fighting properties. 

  • Berries, such as strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries, contain anthocyanins which, according to Lona Sandon, RD, assistant professor of clinical nutrition at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, "stop inflammatory compounds in their tracks". 

Worst Foods For Chronic Pain

  • High- fat foods, such as bacon, butter, cream, etc. can potentially contribute to inflammation due to the high content of arachidonic acid. Instead, choose lean proteins such as turkey, chicken, low-fat milk , and yogurt. 

  • If your chronic pain is due to celiac disease, then foods with gluten, such as breads, pastas, and cereals, can ultimately affect the way that you feel. Choose other replacements, such as legumes or quinoa, for adding substance to your meals.
