Why Good Skin Reflects Good Health
Healthy skin is a sign of overall health. When we see something wrong with our skin, it causes us to pay attention and seek out how we can improve our skin’s health. All of us want to look good, so it is only natural to worry about our skin’s health. Keep these healthy skin tips in mind for skin that radiates good health.
Exfoliation Is Important
Many people, especially men, forget to exfoliate. While exfoliating may sound like a girly word meant for women’s magazines, all of us have dead skin cells that need to be sloughed off. You don’t need a special exfoliator either. Simply massage your face in a gentle, circular motion while you take a shower. For rougher areas, such as your elbows, feet, and knees, you can use a washcloth or sugar scrub to help slough off the dead cells.
Orange Juice in the Morning
Orange juice is rich in vitamin C, which can help keep your skin smooth and full of collagen. Be careful though. Orange juice is also full of sugar, so try consuming other foods that are high in vitamin C too, such as berries and bell peppers.
Keep Things Away from Your Face
Dull skin and breakouts are sure to happen if you are constantly on your phone or are always resting your chin in your hand. Try to keep things away from your face as much as possible to eliminate bacteria and germs from building up. If you must talk on the phone all day for your job, try using headphones.
Watch What You Eat
You really are what you eat, so don’t shovel in ice cream and junk food and expect to have skin like a model. You need to have a diet rich in fruits and vegetables to get all the nutrients your skin needs. Try to also include fruits and vegetables rich in beta-carotene, since they can help your skin repair itself and prevent premature aging.
Get Enough Sleep
Your skin, and your whole body, need ample sleep to repair itself. When you are sleep deprived, you have lower circulation, which is why you might look pale or washed out in the morning.
All of us want to have great skin for vanity reasons, but healthy looking skin is also a reflection that our insides are healthy too. If your skin is looking a little dull or undesirable, then take that as a sign that you need to change up somethings in your health.
