Meet The Doctors
Dr. Monshonda Young became part of The Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in 2021 when she began serving residents in Midland, TX, joined the Abilene clinic location in 2022 and most recently transferred back to Midland, TX to serve as the Lead DC for Midland and Odessa.
Dr. Young is a graduate from Parker University with a doctorate in Chiropractic along with a BS in Human Anatomy; BS in Health and Wellness. Before attending Parker University, she received her undergrad degree from Louisiana Tech University, where she was a former collegiate powerlifter.
Though Dr. Young joined The Joint Chiropractic in September 2021 in Midland Texas, she has been a chiropractor for nine years now. Born and raised in South Louisiana, Dr. Young’s natural instinct is to care for people and make a person feel welcomed.
“The best thing about being a chiropractor, is seeing a patients reaction after the first adjustment and them trying to explain the feeling that they are experiencing and then they notice that they feel loose, standing straighter, etc.”
Before relocating to West Texas, she lived in DFW metroplex for over 10 years. Working as a DC in personal injury, she was working with patients that had very acute injuries and most of them had never been to a chiropractor before. Dr. Young had the unique responsibility to educate them in phases care but also provide information about wellness/maintenance after they released from care.
When not taking care of patients, Dr. Young enjoys taking care of her fur baby that she recently rescued in October 2022, as well as working out and spending time with friends, as well as exploring Abilene.
“My mission is to provide the best care to all patients by improving and restoring function and in a lot cases decreasing pain, through the healing art of chiropractic care. As a chiropractor I’m passionate and invested in your wellbeing and can’t wait to meet you!”
Dr. Sara Mandavi became a member of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of local healthcare providers in November of 2024, but started serving the Midland and Odessa communities in January of 2025.
Growing up in Chicago, Dr. Sara has always been fascinated by how the body works. “It wasn’t until a friend introduced me to chiropractic care that I realized it was the perfect fit for me. I loved the idea of helping people heal without relying on surgery or medication.”
After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois, Dr. Sara went on to obtain her doctorate in Chiropractic from Parker University.
“I was introduced to chiropractic just as I was preparing to start medical school. I had always believed in the body’s ability to heal itself and wasn’t sure if surgery and medication were the right fit for me. When I discovered chiropractic, I knew it was the path I wanted to follow. I was accepted into both medical and chiropractic schools, and choosing chiropractic was a no-brainer for me.”
Dr. Sara has most enjoyed working at the Odessa and Midland clinics with an amazing team of doctors and wellness coordinators. “Everyone is so supportive, and I enjoy collaborating with them to provide the best care for our patients.”
In her free time, Dr. Sara enjoys going to the movies, working out and traveling. She hopes to start horseback riding soon as it’s always something that she’s wanted to try!
Dr. Raul O. Franco became a member of The Joint Chiropractic’s team of healthcare providers in March of 2025 and begins serving the residents of Odessa starting in April.
Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Dr. Raul says that growing up, seeing his dad work and getting injured, made him realize that he wanted to make people feel better and help people in the ways his dad needed back then.
“When I was 10 years old, my father got into a car accident and suffered a low back injury that has impeded him from performing exercises that required flexion of the lumbar spine. It had an impact on his mood, and no one could help him. I always thought that I wanted to help him and people in similar situations like his, so I decided to take a pre-med journey. It was my sophomore year of college at UTEP when I met a representative from Parker University and he further explained the program to me, I saw it as an opportunity to help my dad. In the end, I applied to the university and fell in love with the program and the friends I made. It felt like a leap of faith, but in the end, it was so rewarding to know I would be able to make a difference in people’s lives.”
“When I adjusted one of my patients and he smiled at me and said that was the best feeling he had experienced in a while; that’s when I knew I was doing things right and that I had to stop doubting my calling to this profession.”
Dr. Raul has many hobbies and interests, so when he is not in the clinic, he enjoys playing video games with siblings, soccer with friends, or spending time with his 8-year-old pug, Gabino. While he will “always accept a coffee”, his girlfriend, Alejandra, loves reading and collecting Starbucks cups.
“I’m looking forward to providing great care to patients and to be able to adjust various individuals and help out the community of Odessa.”
