How to Live Healthier
By Sara Butler
Health is something everyone strives for but can be hard to achieve. It’s not just one big thing; it’s several small choices you make over the course of a day that add up to encompass your overall health and wellness. Here are a few tips that can help you to live healthier and better.
Have a Morning Meal
You might spend the morning rushing around to try to get things accomplished, but it’s a good idea to try to take a small break to eat some breakfast. This helps you to get the nutrients your body needs in order to get things done and gives you a mental breather at the start of your day.
Drink Water … Just Water
You may be tempted to have several cups of coffee or some juice, but it’s a good idea to avoid sugary beverages and instead choose plain water. If you wanted to give it a bit of a kick you can add some cucumber or lemon to your water – maybe throw in some fresh mint! The point is those sugary coffee drinks and juices aren’t going to help your body to start the day off right.
Have a Bedtime Routine
You need 7 to 9 hours per night in order to function well the next day. One of the best ways to do this is to establish a nighttime routine for yourself. You should try to:
- Limit use of electronic devices in the hour before bed.
- Make your bedroom cool and dark.
- Take a relaxing shower before bed.
You need to train yourself to get in a mind frame to fall asleep and provide an environment for yourself that will help you stay asleep all night.
Exercise Everyday
Your body wasn’t made to sit down all day – it was made to move! Getting in at least 30 minutes of exercise a day is a great way to help your body stay healthy. Exercise helps your muscles to stay active and increases flexibility in your joints. It doesn’t have to be anything complicated, either. You can take a brisk walk every evening and it will have a big impact!
See Your Chiropractor
Of course one of the best things you can do to promote health is to see your chiropractor regularly. They can help you to keep your body aligned, which will help it to perform optimally. So, make sure you see your chiropractor at The Joint Chiropractic regularly!
