Infused Water Fuels Your Body
By Brandi Goodman
Water should always be the drink of choice. It provides exactly what your body needs. Drinking plain water isn't always desired, however, sometimes making it helpful to find another alternative. Infused water is a great option that fuels your body.
Increased Water Intake
Some people struggle to drink enough water each day. Many don't enjoy it because there's no flavor. Infused water can increase your water intake. You may be more likely to consume more if it has a flavor you enjoy.
Appetite Control
The more water you drink, the less likely you are to overeat. You'll be filling your body so you don't need to eat as much to fulfill your hunger. This is great for weight management. If you're looking for appetite control, then infused water that quenches your thirst while also giving you a taste of something is a beneficial option.
Other Health Benefits
The type of infused water drink you choose can bring other health benefits. Lemon water helps with appetite and hydration while also benefiting the skin. A green tea, mint, and lime water concoction burns fat, curbs headaches, and helps with congestion.
Infused Water Recipes
With a few recipes in mind, you can create drinks that are both beneficial to your body and tasty on your tongue. Use about five cups of water and one cup of ice if you're planning on drinking the water soon. Skip the ice if you plan on placing the pitcher in the fridge and letting the fruit flavors really get infused into the water.
Strawberry lemonade is a popular drink choice. Try it infused water-style by using a half-cup of sliced strawberries, one sliced lemon, and five torn basil leaves. Blackberries, orange, and ginger is another option ideal for breakfast or perfect in color for the fall season. A half-pint of blackberries, sliced orange, and sliced and peeled piece of ginger is all you need.
Kiwi watermelon is a tropical concoction. Use one cup of watermelon cubes, a diced kiwi, and sliced lime. When Christmas rolls around, you may want festive colors in your cup. One cup each of sliced strawberries and cucumbers pair well with thyme.
Infused water with various fruits can provide a unique taste with lots of nourishment. Give some of these options a try and see which ones you enjoy most. Whether you drink plain water or infused, you're getting exactly what your body needs.
