What to Do When Your DIet Stalls
By Stephen R. Farris
So you've tried just about every diet that's out there, yet you're still not seeing the results you've been looking for. No matter how hard you try to stick with it, the weight is just not coming off or you're stuck at a plateau.
Have you tried drinking water before meals? Research shows this can help with metabolism and keep you with a fuller feeling, so you eat less at mealtime. Maybe you should try adding black coffee and green tea into your diet. There are lots of health benefits from these two beverages, plus they can assist with weight loss too.
There are several tips out there that have been known to work. You can add a few, or all of them, to your diet and you might find out it's the kind of boost you've needed to get to the next level.
Consuming More Fiber
Fiber can help with weight loss and help you maintain weight control for long periods. Oatmeal, brown rice, lentils, black beans, lima beans, almonds, etc., are great sources of fiber to include in your diet. There are numerous other food sources that contain fiber as well. Do a little research to find out more about adding more fiber in your diet. There are fiber supplements available as well.
Eat More Fruits and Veggies
Most fresh fruits and raw vegetables are good fiber choices, but they also have additional health benefits and can help aid with your weight loss program. Fresh green, leafy veggies are loaded with many nutrients and minerals your body needs. Both are great snack choices between meals too. Chances are you may already include these in your diet, but if not, you should be.
Avoid Sodas
If there's one beverage item that can crash any diet, it's sodas. By now you should have eliminated nearly all sugars from your diet. But if you are still drinking sodas, you're defeating the purpose of losing weight. Sodas are high in sugar content and should be avoided. Even those bottles and jars of so-called 100 percent fruit juice can have high sugar content as well. It's best to simply stick with water, and if needed you can add a slice of fresh fruit to your glass for added flavor.
