Keeping It Short May Add to Health
By Tom Herrin
There is no magic formula for how anyone should live their life. They all have commitments to keep and other concerns to worry about. Making or finding time for a workout really should be somewhere on their list of priorities. Determining what is most important is always a struggle. Some things seem necessary while others seem like pretty strong wants. Balancing them in the right way can help to make a better all around individual. Too many people limit themselves so much that they cannot grow. Too many others cut out important things due to the fact that they just can't make good decisions as to how to make necessary adjustments. Good workouts may be had while still cutting the amount of time, thus leaving room for other important items.
A Short Session May Serve a Great Purpose
While most feel the need to invest quality amounts of time exercising, they may be able to accomplish their purpose with far less time than they imagined. Some studies have indicated that people who run for seven minutes per day may be able to improve their health to the extent that they have better protection against heart disease. As a matter of fact, some of the studies show that they may reduce their risk of death from heart disease by as much as 45 percent. That is significant by any standards.
If They Don't Run, Make Them Smile
There are lots of keys to happiness, and happiness may be a key to health. Those who are happy often have better health as well. Part of this reason may be due to the fact that they have less stress. A Japanese study found that people who rode a stationary bike for 10 minutes per day were happier. They also performed well on various tests that require good reaction skills.
It Is a Personal Program
Anytime people make the decision to initiate a new program for themselves, it is best to know what they are trying to achieve as a result of their efforts. Goals are an important part of striving for success in anything. Identified goals can lead us in a positive direction. Designing an exercise program that can do this does not have to be long and involved, but it needs to be pointed in the right direction. As individuals, we can do that as part of our planning as we remember that a short program may be exactly what we need.
