How to Keep Your Health Crystal Clear

If you are a pool owner, chances are you have had times where you walked outside and observed a greenish film forming on top of the water. And when that happened, you probably didn't hesitate to call a pool service company or to head to your local store to purchase the necessary chemicals to treat it. Because you know that if you don't start treating situations like that right away, that green color will turn to dark green, and then the dark green will turn to brown. And if you completely avoid the problem, there will come a time when you won't even be able to see those turtle-shaped tiles on the bottom of your pool. So, why are we talking about pools right now? Well, with the exception of turtle tiles, the same can be said about your overall health and wellness.

Keep Your Body Crystal Clear

When you want to maintain the "health" of your pool water, there are several things you need. You need chemicals, you need pool pumps, and you need different kinds of filters to keep that water of yours crystal clear. Each tool serves a purpose, but no matter how beneficial each one is on their own, you still need the help from the others. Likewise, there are several things you need for optimal health and wellness, and like your pool, these things need to work with each other for the best results possible. Take a look at a few of them below.

  • Diet - The foundation of good health starts with your diet, so take a long, hard look at what you are eating. Try to consume at least seven servings of fruits and vegetables, stick to lean proteins, and incorporate more whole grains into your meals.
  • Exercise - Health experts recommend you engage in at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise every day, so be sure to fit them in. Sign up for some fitness classes, go for a jog or walk in the morning, or practice some yoga poses before you head to bed.
  • Sleep - Speaking of your bed, are you getting the recommended amount of sleep each night? If not, you may need to make some changes. Put your electronic devices away at least an hour before bed, keep your room dark and cool, and be consistent with your bedtime. It really will make a difference.
