Eat, Sleep, and Exercise Right to Return Some Youth

By Tom Herrin

For certain, you cannot control everything about yourself and your circumstances.  What is pretty good news is that you may have much more ability to do so within your grasp than you may think.  Studies have shown that people’s choices and habits play a much bigger part in determining the rate and effects of aging on the body.  It is no longer necessary for people to simply accept aging as inevitable.  There is no doubt that it can’t be wiped out, but it may be far more manageable than people realize or want to accept.  Many would actually rather have something to blame it on.  Studies have shown that people who have had long periods of inactivity can still turn some of the effects of aging around and enjoy a more youthful lifestyle.

Things May Look Bad Without Help

People generally have a natural tendency for certain things to happen to them.  As they leave their twenties and thirties, they lose muscle and gain fat.  Much of it is around the waistline.  This may be accompanied by higher blood pressure and blood sugar.  The heart loses some of its ability to move as much blood as it once did.  Cholesterol looks a little worse.

Change Can Be Effective

In some studies, people who were sedentary have added a more aggressive exercise routine.  After following it for only a few weeks or months, they have often regained better movement and responses as well as improving blood sugar and blood pressure.  Cholesterol is known to respond in a positive way to exercise.  Improving the efficiency of the heart is usually seen as a good outcome of regular exercise.  Better sleep can be another effect.  That has been known to improve skin.

You Can Do Even More

Starting a good exercise routine can be a big part of an anti-aging program.  Making dietary changes can be another large part.  Low fat diets have been the only kind known to actually improve the condition of the genetic material in the body that can determine length of life.  That should serve as good incentive to anyone who is serious about the fight against aging.  And let’s face it, there may only be one chance to live life as it is.  Now would be the time to bring back some of that youth.
