Make a Friend of Your Skin
By Tom Herrin
How do you treat your best friend? You probably treat them quite well. If this is the case for you, the next question is how do you treat your skin? It should be comparable but, too often, it is something we neglect. We simply take our skin for granted because it is always with us. In today's world, there is quite a big market for products that are designed for the skin. Many more people have become interested in their skin. Not only is appearance important, but skin that is smoother and softer seems to get more attention. With all of the current knowledge available that is related to maintaining skin, any of us may be able to do a better job of protecting ours.
You Can Seldom Drink Too Much Water
Water serves several useful purposes for each of us. It helps to keep our blood from being too thick, it helps us to cool our bodies with perspiration, and it helps maintain elasticity in our skin. It can help us to avoid having our skin become too dry and wrinkled. It also can help to flush out impurities. Some of us spend lots of money on moisturizers that may be very useful, but drinking water may go a long way toward accomplishing that.
Eat Well
Chances are that, when you were younger, someone told you to avoid certain foods that may cause problems with your complexion. Some of these foods were likely those that were greasy or contained chocolate. For many people, excess sugars and dairy products can cause issues. It is a good idea to pay attention to those foods that may initiate breakouts or other problems. Finding the right diet may be part of a great recipe for better skin.
Sleep Is Always Important
Many of us tend to keep ourselves too busy with a packed schedule. Once we try to organize it, we often end up cutting our time for sleep in order to squeeze more things in. As a result, we may have skin that seems more aged and appears dry and worn. Sleep gives our bodies an opportunity to make repairs that may be needed. Helping the skin to heal is a big part of this. For most of us, getting seven to eight hours of sleep each night may keep our skin in better shape. It can be a critical part of better skin health.
