3 Apps That Help Improve Your Diet
By Genevieve Cunningham
One of the hardest parts of starting a new diet plan is going it alone. Without support and guidance, many of us are just grasping at straws. But a personal trainer or dietitian can be expensive! How do we find the support that we need without breaking the bank? Luckily, it might be easier than you think. Take a look at these apps that can help you get moving down the right path and keep your diet on track.
This app is easy to use -- and free! Though parts of it cost extra to utilize (micronutrients, etc.), the free parts are more than enough for the average person. MyFitnessPal allows you to input all of your calories for the day. It has a large library of foods and their nutritional value, and also a scanner to add new foods as you consume them. Besides counting calories, it also helps you set the proper amount of calories for your body in order to meet your goals. If you like, you can also add exercise and water to keep track of what you’re doing every day.
This app is a bit more extensive. It allows you to choose from a wide variety of diets, and then provides you with all of the information you need. It will give you an overall view of the diet and what is included. Don’t know what to buy? It will give you a grocery list. Trouble remembering to stay on schedule? This app allows you to set a friendly reminder. It also provides hundreds of tips to help you stay on track and meet your diet and fitness goals faster.
This app goes further than counting calories. It takes a questionnaire (obviously of information provided by you), and then tells you exactly what you should eat. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of dieting, which is incredibly appealing to a great many people. For research buffs, this app may also be appealing because it is constantly being updated with the most current nutritional research.
Sticking with a good diet and fitness plan is tough. It takes a lot of preparation and self discipline. But with a little help, it gets a lot easier. Use these apps to help you get started down a healthier path, and you may find that your goals are just around the corner.
