4 Easy Ways to Improve Your Skin in a Flash
By Genevieve Cunningham
The skin is a touchy subject. Maybe it's because all of our skin is so different -- different colors, different textures, different problems. Maybe it's because the skin is the first thing others see and they judge us accordingly, fair or not fair. Maybe it's just that feeling good in our own skin is the ultimate goal, and perhaps the hardest thing to do. But there's good news: Improving your skin, and thus feeling better in it, is absolutely possible! And it might be easier than you think. To start managing and improving your skin, take a look at these four easy ways to make improvements right away.
Wash It
This probably seems like the most obvious tip, but it's one that gets skipped too often. Maybe you're too tired, or perhaps you fall asleep before going through your bedtime routine. Maybe you're running late in the morning. But washing your face regularly makes a huge difference. It removes bacteria and dirt that lead to blemishes. Rinse your face in the morning, wash with a cleanser at night, and you'll soon notice a difference in complexion.
Exfoliate It
You probably shouldn't exfoliate every day, but one or two times per week can make a huge difference. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells and promotes healthy cell production. It's a great way to even skin tone and smooth the texture. Find a good scrub, a gentle brush, and make this a part of your routine.
Moisturize It
Moisturizer is king in skincare. Without moisturizer, our skin is more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles. Moisturizer keeps the skin hydrated. It promotes a soft texture. It gives you a healthy glow. The key is to find a moisturizer that works for your skin. Experiment if you need to in order to find the perfect option, and then make moisturizer a part of your head-to-toe skincare routine.
Protect It
If you don't protect your skin from the elements, it will age so much faster. Make sure that you're wearing sunscreen on your face, neck, and hands every single day. If you're in extreme weather, cover yourself with a hat, scarf, or other layers. Don't skip this step out of ignorance or laziness. Prevention is the best medicine, and for your skin, it goes a long way in personal health and self-esteem too.
Don't live with problem skin. Don't ignore the issues. Don't think that good skin is impossible. You can definitely have skin you love -- or at the very least, skin you feel better about! Use these tips to get started, and watch your skin, your health, and your self-esteem improve in on time at all.
