Unlike Plants, We Can Adapt to Lack of Sun

People are some pretty complicated beings.  They have some abilities that are not shared by other members of this world.  They may be the most capable of adapting to various conditions.  The reason is that they can make logical decisions.  This allows them to control their environment to some extent.  Not only can they control temperatures in their homes, jobs, and schools, but they can also control their situation at almost any given time.  Even though some people feel that is not the case, a little planning can make it happen.  The ability to plan and act rather than react certainly separates people from everything else.  For this reason, people can make adjustments to their activity routine when temps become colder, which may help improve their health.  

Work on Personally Becoming More Acclimated

If a person spends their time bundled up all of the time, they will have a tough time dealing with lower temperatures.  Without a doubt, no one needs to be cold all of the time.  That won't work.  If they will slowly work on handling a little cold at a time, the body may be able to make a better adjustment.  Experiencing some cold may help the body to kick in more natural means of regulating itself.  It will be slow, but it can work.

Dress Right

When people are going out in the cold, it is essential that they dress for it.  Bulky clothing may be good for shopping or doing some task outside, but wearing layers is a more efficient way of warming the body.  When people start out cool they will naturally warm as they exercise.  They can remove layers as they do.  Carrying a small backpack or having a way to tie something around the waist can help to make it work.

Establish a Good Schedule

Deciding what time you are going to exercise is pretty important.  Many people have great success in the mornings as it seems to help them begin their day.  As it becomes cooler, they may want to consider moving the workout to a warmer time of the day.  I suppose I am one of those odd individuals who does not do well with an early morning workout.  I have tried it on several occasions.  Each time, I  have felt as if I had been beaten up.  I would be really tired for the rest of the day.  The bottom line is that people need to set their own schedule.  It may simply need to be adjusted in cool weather.  Experiment a little, and make it work for you.
