Take a Breath the Right Way for Better Health
By Tom Herrin
Some of the things we do on a regular basis are really easy. Carrying on our life activities is what the term natural is all about. One of those we usually don't give a second thought to is breathing. It is the thing we do from birth, and we continue to do so without ever thinking about it. It is difficult to conceive that there may actually be things we could do to improve our technique. Who ever would have thought it? The fact is that many people have studied ways to improve breathing. Some people who use their voices to perform have always tried to find ways to become more efficient. Many athletes have also concentrated on breathing better. Any of us may be able to breathe better with practice.
Exercise May Help Lots of Things
Just like trying to get better at doing anything, breathing may become much more productive if we practice some good exercises. Many of these include using our nostrils, diaphragm, and lips. Some people even do some breathing exercises that involve making some kinds of humming sounds as they breathe. With the number of respiratory issues people have today, developing better practices may help us to be more productive.
How Can Breathing Affect Overall Health?
Anytime we breathe more efficiently, we may make better use of the oxygen we take in. It may help us to remove bacteria and other things that may cause illness. Better breathing may help to improve digestion. It also may help to improve skin. The list continues, but the fact is that better breathing can be a key to good health. This is quite evident from individuals who have breathing issues. A little fine-tuning here may produce some great results.
Better Breathing Can Help Us to Relax
Most of us know about breathing to slow ourselves down. It may happen when they are wound up and tense. Most of the meditative practices focus on better breathing. Doing something to make our breathing more slow and deliberate can be part of a good practice for gaining control of our bodies and mind. It may help us relax. It may help us to sleep better. It may help us to do things such as study better. When we think about it, we may gain lots of things by better breathing.
