3 Good Habits That Can Turn Your Health Around

Habits. We spend most of our day partaking in one habit or another, and most of the time, we don't even realize it. We wake up in the morning and immediately reach for a cup of coffee out of habit. We scroll through social media in the bed out of habit. We go through the same motions at work out of habit. So many of our habits are done completely subconsciously. But what if we flipped the script just a little bit? What if we developed habits on purpose? If we chose the right habits, we could significantly improve our overall well-being. If you want to turn your wellness around, take a look at these three good habits to add to your normal routine as soon as today.

Regular Water Consumption

Water is your friend. When you consume enough water, your body is able to stay properly hydrated. Why does this matter? Because proper hydration leads to a more efficient digestive system, clear skin, an elimination of brain fog, weight loss, and many other positive benefits. Unfortunately, we're more likely to choose soda or juice than regular water. If we can make the switch to H2O, we're putting our bodies in a much better position to feel and function at its very best.

Nighttime Stress Relief

Stress can do a number on our bodies. We get so used to being under stress, we often don't even notice these effects. But excessive stress can lead to aches and pains, headaches, weight gain, insomnia, and much more. Before bed, get into the habit of relieving that stress. Take a hot shower, read a book, get in a good stretch. Do whatever you need to do to physically release the stress from the body and mind. As your stress lowers, your health will improve, and you'll likely feel better about life in general as well.

Daily Movement

Even if you don't want to head to the gym every single day, it's still important to move your body. Movement helps prevent certain aches and pains, helps with weight loss, and keeps our mood in a good place. Luckily, almost any movement will do the job. Pack up your kids, go to the park, and go for a walk. Open a mat in your living room and get in a good, deep stretch. Play something fun with your family -- Frisbee golf or soccer or hide and seek. If you can get in some daily movement, you'll improve your physical and mental health right now and in the future as well.
