Our Buford chiropractors specialize in:
Dr. Nicholas Reyes is a passionate chiropractor who joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2025 and proudly serves patients in Buford, Georgia. A strong advocate for mobility, injury prevention, and holistic healing, Dr. Reyes brings a diverse background in sports performance and therapeutic care to every patient interaction.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology from The College of New Jersey in 2020, followed by his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University in December 2024. His training is deeply rooted in both science and empathy, having been inspired by his own experience with lower back pain from work and gym activities. “I forgot how much relief an adjustment can provide until I went back to my chiropractor,” he says. “That moment reminded me this was the path I needed to follow.”
Prior to his work at The Joint, Dr. Reyes gained hands-on experience treating a variety of athletic and general populations. His clinical background includes internships and chiropractic roles at:
His work focuses on musculoskeletal assessments, individualized treatment plans, soft tissue therapies (including Graston and ART), and patient education for long-term wellness. He is also NSCA-CSCS and CPR-AED certified.
What Dr. Reyes loves most about chiropractic care is "seeing those in pain and discomfort get up, smile, and begin to move better with more range of motion and a substantial relief of pain.” He also values how quickly a single adjustment can become a powerful launchpad toward a healthier lifestyle.
In his free time, Dr. Reyes enjoys road biking, hiking with his fiancée and their two dogs—Leia, an American Doberman, and Churro, a Pit mix—reading, and spending time at the beach in Puerto Rico. One of his favorite life experiences was traveling through Andalusia in southern Spain, where he immersed himself in the region’s rich culture and cuisine.
You’ll always find milk, yogurt, and eggs in his fridge—simple staples that keep life running smoothly, especially for his fiancée’s coffee and protein shakes.
Dr. Reyes is excited to make chiropractic care more accessible through The Joint’s convenient model and looks forward to helping the Buford community move better and feel better—one adjustment at a time.
Dr. Jonathan Stone grew up in western Kentucky, where family and community were always at the heart of daily life. He carries those values with him today, spending much of his free time with his family, hiking, and exploring parks together. His love for connection and active living played a significant role in guiding him toward a career in chiropractic care.
Dr. Stone earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University in St. Louis, MO. There, he not only mastered the science and techniques of chiropractic but also embraced the philosophy of working with the body’s natural ability to heal. What inspired him most was witnessing the transformation that occurs when knowledge and skilled hands come together—helping someone walk out better than they walked in. For him, chiropractic is more than a profession; it is a calling.
He values The Joint Chiropractic model for its accessibility and convenience, which remove barriers and make chiropractic care easy for anyone to try. By offering that opportunity, more people can discover natural healing, often for the very first time. For Dr. Stone, the most rewarding part of his work is helping patients experience relief, improve their function, and return to the activities they love.
Dr. Christopher J. Figueroa Álvarez—known to patients as Dr. Alvarez—joined The Joint Chiropractic in July 2025 and serves patients across Atlanta, including North Druid Hills, with coverage in several nearby clinics as needed. Rooted in a performance-and-recovery mindset from his collegiate sports background, Dr. Alvarez believes the key to health is allowing the body’s innate intelligence to express itself fully. His care centers on safe, drug-free chiropractic adjustments, movement education, and practical habits that empower patients to heal from within.
Before The Joint, Dr. Alvarez treated diverse communities in Las Vegas, NV and across Georgia—including Dalton, Lithonia, Chamblee, Stone Mountain, Snellville, and Lawrenceville—giving him broad experience with athletic, occupational, and everyday presentations.
Clinical Focus:
Why Chiropractic:
“Chiropractic shaped my own athletic journey. Combining my passion for helping people with my love for sports made chiropractic the clear path—it lets me keep people moving and feeling their best.”
What He Values About The Joint:
Dr. Alvarez appreciates The Joint’s accessibility and diversity, where he connects with people from all walks of life and supports consistent, routine care that leads to lasting results.
Outside the Clinic:
Dr. Alvarez enjoys CrossFit, competing in sports events, traveling (his “coolest” adventure: Europe), and spending quality time with his wife, Karen Lorena.

Whether chiropractic care is “worth it” depends on your individual needs and circumstances. Research shows it can be effective for certain conditions especially for low back pain and neck pain and may provide pain relief and improve function. However, you should weigh the risks and consult with a healthcare professional to see if it’s right for you.
If you’re dealing with back or neck pain that won’t let up, frequent headaches, or joints that feel stiff or achy, chiropractic care may help. It’s also a smart choice if you’ve recently been in a car accident or experienced an injury that’s affecting your mobility or comfort.
A lot of people come in because their body just doesn’t feel quite right. Maybe you’re waking up sore, feeling tension in your shoulders by the end of the day, or noticing that certain movements aren’t as easy as they used to be. You don’t have to wait for the pain to get worse, chiropractic care can be a proactive way to support your overall health and stay ahead of future issues.
No referral needed, no pressure. Just come in when your body says it’s time.
How often you should see a chiropractor depends on you—your body, your lifestyle, and what you’re hoping to get out of care. Some people come in with acute pain like a stiff neck, sore back, or headaches that just won’t quit. Others are dealing with old injuries, tight muscles from long work shifts, or just want to feel and function better day to day.
Your chiropractor will build a treatment plan tailored to your immediate needs and long-term wellness goals. That plan may move through three general stages of care:
After you’re feeling better, ongoing chiropractic care during the wellness phase may help you stay that way. Many people find that regular adjustments help them move easier, sleep better, and manage the physical stress of everyday life.
Want to know more? Here’s a deeper look at the three stages of chiropractic care.
Yes, chiropractors are doctors. They earn a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree and are highly trained in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Chiropractors focus on helping patients feel and function better through natural, non-invasive care.
Chiropractic care is generally considered safe when provided by trained and licensed professionals, with serious complications being rare. Research supports its use as a non-invasive, drug-free approach for managing discomfort and enhancing overall wellness.
Chiropractors tailor treatments to your unique needs, health history, and goals, focusing on minimizing risks and maximizing benefits. Ongoing studies continue to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of chiropractic care, giving patients an evidence-based foundation for their choices.
If you have specific concerns or questions, your chiropractor is there to listen and provide clarity. Open communication is key to feeling confident and comfortable in your care journey.
