Dr Raha Ross is a Georgia native, where she obtained her bachelors in Biology and Chemistry from Georgia State University and eventually obtained her doctorate in chiropractic in 2016 from Life University in Marietta Ga. According to Dr Ross, the two best things about being in the chiropractic field is the relief a patient can gain from just one full spine treatment and the fact that the body has the ability to heal at a faster rate after a chiropractic treatment. Dr Ross has practiced both in Georgia and within New York over the past 10 years.
Dr Ross has had the opportunity to work with Broadway performers and actually travel along side with them as their personal chiropractor and she considers that to be one of her coolest accomplishments. Outside from work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Jon, daughter and pet chihuahua. She also enjoys beach time, practicing yoga and understanding the importance of each pose during each practice. If Dr Ross had the opportunity to sit at a perfect dinner table, it would be with King Reza Pahlavi, Cyrus the Great, Cleopatra, and Alexander the Great.”
Since starting at The Joint Chiropractic, I have truly enjoyed building relationships and helping people better understand their bodies through chiropractic.
“The preservation of health is easier than the cure of the disease.” - BJ Palmer: this is when I knew chiropractic was for me.

Dr. Candace Holmes joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2025 and brings with her more than two decades of experience in chiropractic care. She began working with The Joint in May 2025 and currently serves patients across multiple clinic locations.
A proud graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana, Dr. Holmes earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Pre-Med in 1995 before pursuing her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life University in Marietta, GA, where she graduated in 1999. Over the years, she has practiced in several cities, including Detroit, Michigan; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Louisville, Kentucky.
Dr. Holmes is deeply passionate about chiropractic because it allows the body to heal naturally without the use of drugs. She believes one of the greatest rewards of her profession is seeing lives transformed through chiropractic adjustments. She knew this was her true calling after discovering its wellness-centered approach and realizing that delivering adjustments was one of her God-given gifts.
Outside of her career, Dr. Holmes enjoys an active lifestyle. She loves brisk walks, practicing yoga, attending concerts, roller skating, and fine dining. One of her greatest joys is being her youngest daughter’s biggest fan as she competes in Division I collegiate softball. She is also a proud mother of two daughters.
An interesting fact about Dr. Holmes is that she served as a surrogate twice in her forties, helping two women who could not bear children. She describes this as one of the coolest and most meaningful experiences of her life. In fact, she has written a book about her surrogacy journeys, which she plans to publish in the fall of 2025.
When it comes to her everyday life, she never goes without eggs in her fridge—her go-to food staple. And if she could host the perfect dinner party, her guests of honor would include President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Dr. Clarence Sumner Greene, Sr., and Prince.
For Dr. Holmes, working at The Joint Chiropractic is especially rewarding because every clinic she visits is filled with upbeat, friendly, and dedicated doctors and wellness coordinators who truly care about supporting members on their health and wellness journeys.
Dr. Berta Jabavu, affectionately known as “Kibo,” is a dedicated chiropractor originally from East Africa, Tanzania. She became part of The Joint Chiropractic family in 2019, beginning her journey at the Camp Creek location before expanding her impact across the Decatur area and surrounding clinics.
Dr. Jabavu earned her Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences in 2016.
Her introduction to chiropractic was personal and powerful. While enrolled in a naturopathic program, she experienced a severe migraine. A professor suggested she try a chiropractic adjustment—and to her amazement, the headache vanished. From that moment on, she knew she had found her true calling and switched to chiropractic care. As Dr. Jabavu often says, “Chiropractic found me.”
What she loves most about the profession is the ability to use her hands to help people heal naturally, one adjustment at a time. She’s especially passionate about offering alternatives to medication, stating, “I love helping to decrease the opioid crisis—one patient at a time.”
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Jabavu enjoys spending time with her infant son, thrifting for unique finds, and diving into good books. One fridge essential she swears by is beef liver—a natural source of iron to help with her own health and vitality.
If she could host a dream dinner party, it would include chiropractic pioneers Daniel David Palmer and B.J. Palmer, humanitarian leader Nelson Mandela, and Tanzanian music icon Diamond Platnumz. She’d relish the opportunity to hear stories of resilience, vision, and purpose from these influential figures.
Dr. Jabavu continues to serve her community with skill, empathy, and a commitment to wellness—grateful to the chiropractic pioneers who made her life’s work possible.

Dr. Fisher earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in 2002, graduating with honors. During her final year, she worked with a semi-professional football team in Buffalo, NY, and provided care at the Gravity Games in Erie, PA, fueling her passion for sports injury treatment. She is currently continuing her academic journey, pursuing a Master’s in Anatomy & Physiology Instruction at her alma mater.

Whether chiropractic care is “worth it” depends on your individual needs and circumstances. Research shows it can be effective for certain conditions especially for low back pain and neck pain and may provide pain relief and improve function. However, you should weigh the risks and consult with a healthcare professional to see if it’s right for you.
If you’re dealing with back or neck pain that won’t let up, frequent headaches, or joints that feel stiff or achy, chiropractic care may help. It’s also a smart choice if you’ve recently been in a car accident or experienced an injury that’s affecting your mobility or comfort.
A lot of people come in because their body just doesn’t feel quite right. Maybe you’re waking up sore, feeling tension in your shoulders by the end of the day, or noticing that certain movements aren’t as easy as they used to be. You don’t have to wait for the pain to get worse, chiropractic care can be a proactive way to support your overall health and stay ahead of future issues.
No referral needed, no pressure. Just come in when your body says it’s time.
How often you should see a chiropractor depends on you—your body, your lifestyle, and what you’re hoping to get out of care. Some people come in with acute pain like a stiff neck, sore back, or headaches that just won’t quit. Others are dealing with old injuries, tight muscles from long work shifts, or just want to feel and function better day to day.
Your chiropractor will build a treatment plan tailored to your immediate needs and long-term wellness goals. That plan may move through three general stages of care:
After you’re feeling better, ongoing chiropractic care during the wellness phase may help you stay that way. Many people find that regular adjustments help them move easier, sleep better, and manage the physical stress of everyday life.
Want to know more? Here’s a deeper look at the three stages of chiropractic care.
Yes, chiropractors are doctors. They earn a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree and are highly trained in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Chiropractors focus on helping patients feel and function better through natural, non-invasive care.
Chiropractic care is generally considered safe when provided by trained and licensed professionals, with serious complications being rare. Research supports its use as a non-invasive, drug-free approach for managing discomfort and enhancing overall wellness.
Chiropractors tailor treatments to your unique needs, health history, and goals, focusing on minimizing risks and maximizing benefits. Ongoing studies continue to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of chiropractic care, giving patients an evidence-based foundation for their choices.
If you have specific concerns or questions, your chiropractor is there to listen and provide clarity. Open communication is key to feeling confident and comfortable in your care journey.
