You Do Have Time to Exercise!
By Sara Butler
You know deep down inside that if you want to find the time to do something, chances are you can. But when it comes to exercise, many people let excuses get in the way of better health and fitness. The king of excuses when it comes to exercise is the "no time" excuse, something that is probably not true. You do have time to exercise if you can overcome the excuses you use to get out of it. Here are some of the most common excuses related to time management and how you can conquer them.
Excuse No. 1: You Have Kids
Sure, kids take up a lot of time. That is absolutely true. Your schedule can be quite bogged down with practices, concerts, and other activities that make it difficult to get to the gym. But if you can set aside some time in your schedule to do something as simple as taking a walk, then you are taking a step toward reclaiming your own time for fitness.
If you can create a daily routine that involves some sort of physical activity, then pretty soon it will become a habit. Once you've established a fitness habit, then you can move on to bigger and better exercises to help you reach your health and fitness goals.
Excuse No. 2: You Work Full Time
Everyone gets the same 24-hour day to accomplish things in and guess what? Many people who work full time still find time to exercise. Remember, you need to be healthy in order to maintain your job and provide for yourself and the people you love. You can start small with your health and fitness goals as you try to balance your workload by taking up some healthier habits at work such as taking a walk at lunch or getting up at least once per hour and doing a few stretches. The time you spend on your physical fitness is an investment in your work -- because it can make you more productive too with all that energy!
Excuse No. 3: You're Always Tired
This excuse is very common but the answer to having more energy is to actually move your body more. Regular exercise can increase your body's energy levels, making you less tired as your day progresses. You must work to exercise consistency to see the results in your energy levels, but it will happen.
You have time to exercise if you can leave the excuses behind and get moving!
