Dr. Andrea Mendez, D.C., brings a blend of passion, skill, and heart to her chiropractic care. Originally from Guatemala, she moved to the United States in 2004 to pursue her education and a future in healthcare. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Gwinnett College, following earlier studies at Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Inspired by a family legacy in medicine—her father is both a surgeon and pharmacy owner—Dr. Mendez was drawn to a more holistic path. Her interest in natural healing led her to Life University, where a campus tour sparked a calling she couldn’t ignore. She went on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree and hasn’t looked back since.
Since joining The Joint Chiropractic in Snellville in September 2020, Dr. Mendez has been dedicated to helping patients live better through gentle, hands-on care. She finds great joy in helping people improve their posture, manage pain, and adopt healthier, more active lifestyles. Her approach focuses on education and personalized care—empowering every patient to take control of their well-being.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Mendez enjoys life to the fullest. You’ll often find her hiking scenic trails, trying new recipes, reading a good book, or listening to her favorite music. At home, she’s supported by her energetic 12-year-old son, Josue, her two playful pups, Ricky and Lexie, and a laid-back pet turtle who rounds out the crew.

Whether chiropractic care is “worth it” depends on your individual needs and circumstances. Research shows it can be effective for certain conditions especially for low back pain and neck pain and may provide pain relief and improve function. However, you should weigh the risks and consult with a healthcare professional to see if it’s right for you.
If you’re dealing with back or neck pain that won’t let up, frequent headaches, or joints that feel stiff or achy, chiropractic care may help. It’s also a smart choice if you’ve recently been in a car accident or experienced an injury that’s affecting your mobility or comfort.
A lot of people come in because their body just doesn’t feel quite right. Maybe you’re waking up sore, feeling tension in your shoulders by the end of the day, or noticing that certain movements aren’t as easy as they used to be. You don’t have to wait for the pain to get worse, chiropractic care can be a proactive way to support your overall health and stay ahead of future issues.
No referral needed, no pressure. Just come in when your body says it’s time.
How often you should see a chiropractor depends on you—your body, your lifestyle, and what you’re hoping to get out of care. Some people come in with acute pain like a stiff neck, sore back, or headaches that just won’t quit. Others are dealing with old injuries, tight muscles from long work shifts, or just want to feel and function better day to day.
Your chiropractor will build a treatment plan tailored to your immediate needs and long-term wellness goals. That plan may move through three general stages of care:
After you’re feeling better, ongoing chiropractic care during the wellness phase may help you stay that way. Many people find that regular adjustments help them move easier, sleep better, and manage the physical stress of everyday life.
Want to know more? Here’s a deeper look at the three stages of chiropractic care.
Yes, chiropractors are doctors. They earn a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree and are highly trained in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Chiropractors focus on helping patients feel and function better through natural, non-invasive care.
Chiropractic care is generally considered safe when provided by trained and licensed professionals, with serious complications being rare. Research supports its use as a non-invasive, drug-free approach for managing discomfort and enhancing overall wellness.
Chiropractors tailor treatments to your unique needs, health history, and goals, focusing on minimizing risks and maximizing benefits. Ongoing studies continue to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of chiropractic care, giving patients an evidence-based foundation for their choices.
If you have specific concerns or questions, your chiropractor is there to listen and provide clarity. Open communication is key to feeling confident and comfortable in your care journey.
