Dr. Jason Trainer joined The Joint Chiropractic’s family of local healthcare providers in 2019 with his arrival at the Sugar Hill location. A double-major at Parker University, he received with bachelor’s degrees in anatomy, as well as health and wellness, Dr. Trainer has studied organic chemistry, human development, kinesiology, and physiology. It is at Parker that he received his doctorate of chiropractic after graduating cum laude.
“I lost my father to heart disease when he was 57,” Dr. Trainer says. “I wasn’t able to help him, but it motivated me to become a doctor so I could help others improve their health through routine chiropractic care. I really love when the power of chiropractic clicks with a patient for the first time! Witnessing that ‘a-ha’ moment is priceless.” Prior to landing in Sugar Hill, Dr. Trainer worked in Cumming, Alpharetta, and San Diego.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, activities at the lake, and pool time with wife Jennifer and their two dachshunds, Snoopy and Red Baron.
“I realized I wanted to be a chiropractor when I saw a picture on the wall at my chiropractor’s office of her adjusting a patient on a chiropractic mission trip,” Dr. Trainer says. “The way she connected with that person made me know chiropractic was my calling. I still have that picture in my phone to this day and look at it regularly for inspiration.”
Dr. Trainer loves working at the Sugar Hill clinic. “I have the pleasure of living close to the office so I have the honor of treating my friends and neighbors while becoming a vital part of my community,” he says. “I love our community around Lake Lanier.”
In Case You Didn’t Know
Dr. Trainer says he tries to avoid the refrigerator because “my wife usually fills it with healthy things,” but admits “I am a big fan of ready-made Caesar salad kits.” If he could invite any four persons from history to his dream dinner party, Dr. Trainer says he would include Jesus Christ, Nikola Tesla, BJ Palmer, and Bill Murray.
“Christ died on the cross for humanity -- that’s how you love people,” he says. “Tesla was one of the smartest men who ever lived and scientists today are still trying to understand his discoveries from 100-plus years ago; Einstein was asked how it felt to be the smartest man in the world and he responded with, ‘I don’t know, go ask Nikola Tesla.’
“Palmer was the developer of chiropractic, and though his dad discovered it, he made it what it is today. I’d love to play a round of golf with Bill Murray one day, but dinner would be pretty lively with him there; one of the greatest comedians of all time!”
The coolest thing Dr. Trainer has done took place when his father was still alive. “A few years before my dad passed away, him and I won a gold medal in the Missouri State Games for men’s bowling doubles,” he says. “It is a memory I will always cherish.”
