Easy Exercise Tips from Chiropractors

By Lana Bandoim

What do chiropractors recommend to make exercise easier and more fun? They frequently encourage patients to work out and stay active. Their tips may help you exercise more often.

Walk More

Walking is one of the easiest ways to work out and does not require expensive equipment. Consider walking in the morning or later in the day. You can walk around the neighborhood or go to a local park. Chiropractors recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothes. They also encourage people to walk on even surfaces that reduce stress on the spine.

Try Running

Running is more intense and can add more stress to the joints. However, it is another simple way to stay active. In addition, running may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Consider adding a quick jog to the weekend schedule, or try running during lunch breaks at work.

Do Chores

Exercise does not have to mean going to the gym. Instead, do chores at home that require lifting, walking or other movement. From vacuuming the living room to cleaning out the garage, it is easy to find tasks at home that require exercise. Not only will the house stay clean, you will get the health benefits of working out.

Try Yoga

Yoga is a great way to improve flexibility and stay in shape. Chiropractors recommend yoga because it can help posture and balance. In addition, yoga can strengthen the muscles. Consider joining a class at a local fitness center or find online videos to learn yoga. The only things that are required are a yoga mat and an open mind.

Get Friends to Join

Chiropractors frequently see people give up on their exercise plans after one or two weeks. The lack of motivation makes people stop working out. However, getting friends to join exercise routines can provide extra encouragement. You cannot miss the morning jog because a friend is waiting.

Limit Sitting

Sitting can hurt your health, but it is often a requirement at work. Try to move around more and limit sitting in a chair. Take breaks to walk around the office, get paperwork or talk to a coworker. Find an excuse to get up and do stretching exercises.

Consider going to The Joint Chiropractic for more tips about staying active and healthy. Walk-ins are welcome, so you can see a chiropractor during lunch or after work. In addition, insurance is not a requirement at The Joint. This means there are fewer hassles to deal with at the chiropractor’s office.
