Dr. Edward Barksdale, D.C., was born in Long Beach, California. He attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana for undergrad and later moved to Chesterfield, Missouri to attend Logan University where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. After graduating, Dr. Barksdale started practicing as an associate Chiropractor in Vincennes, Indiana. In 1997 Dr.Barksdale went on to start his own practice in Terre Haute, Indiana. He focused on Diversified and flexion-distraction. He owed that practice for 16 years before the move to California where he completed part 4 of the national boards and obtained his license in California.

Through his professional journey, Dr. Barksdale has learned to serve all types of people and a range of cases. He has been a chiropractor for 29 years and has worked for The Joint Chiropractic for 1 year. He has been licensed in Indiana since 1991.

After going to Indiana State University and studying Biology Dr. Barksdale became fascinated with the natural approach to healing. His goal as a Chiropractor is to help people build and maintain healthy lives. During his free time, Dr. Barksdale enjoys cooking, long walks, playing tennis and spending time with his family.

Dr. Matthew Cook, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Avon

Dr. Matthew Cook was born and raised in Indiana. He always knew healthcare was his path. Starting out as a Phlebotomist, he then obtained a degree as a lab tech from Ivy Tech. Working as a lab tech brought him to love chiropractic care. The neck and back pain from the job made him get his first adjustment. He was amazed by the results he had and even more about what the human body could do.

After 6 years as a lab tech, he worked his way through Chiropractic school. In February 2021 he graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While new to the profession, Dr. Cook has had the opportunity to serve a myriad of patients. Dr. Cook joined The Joint Chiropractic team September 2022 and was proudly able to settle down in the community he serves in February 2023.

When he’s not bringing relief to patients, Dr. Cook enjoys learning more about the human body, traveling, kayaking, hockey and spending time with friends and family.
