Beat Breast Cancer With These 6 Solutions

By Brandi Goodman

Breast Cancer Awareness Month falls to October. If you're newly diagnosed, it can seem scary to go through such a traumatic change in health. Finding some solutions to help beat breast cancer is the goal. Several methods are available that may help.

Change Your Diet

A healthier diet can work well to rid the body of cancer. You need nutritious foods with antioxidants that work to fight off disease. Protein is essential for repairing tissues. Eat lean meats, eggs, beans, and nuts. Whole grains, fruits, and vegetables should also be in your daily meal plan.

Get Active

It may be difficult to exercise when you're feeling sick, but getting active is one of the best ways you can help yourself beat cancer. Excess body fat poses a risk for breast cancer. Fat tissues within the body can lead to inflammation which causes cancerous mutations within your cells. Physical activity will regulate hormone levels, improve mood, keep excess fat tissues at bay, and help you to maintain your well-being.

Avoid Alcohol

The blood levels of certain hormones are altered by alcohol. Your estrogen levels may rise when you drink alcohol regularly. This can lead to breast cancer. Alcohol is also a cancer-causing agent in general due to the cellular damage it causes.

Find Coping Techniques for Stress

Having a cancer diagnosis is of course going to be stressful. You have even more on your mind now than before with lots of worries. Stress can impact your health, causing you to lose sleep, become ill easier, and feel run down. You need to get plenty of rest and keep your health as well as possible if you hope to beat cancer. Find coping techniques for your stress so it does not completely take over your life and prevent you from getting better. Writing in a journal, watching your favorite comedians on repeat, painting, and more are ways to help yourself cope.

Don't Eat Grapefruit

It may seem strange, but grapefruit is actually on the do not eat list when you have breast cancer. This is because grapefruit can raise estrogen levels. High estrogen levels that was said can be caused by alcohol can also be caused by regular grapefruit consumption.

Get Enough Sleep

Your body needs plenty of rest if it's going to recover from cancer. It can be difficult to drift off to sleep if you're stressed out and worried about the outcome of your disease. Do your best to find a sleep routine that helps you get to bed each night so you can get the rest your body requires. It's also important to take a nap during the day if your body feels like it needs the rest. Just be sure you're not napping too long so it does not interfere with you getting proper rest at night.

Try these options if you hope to beat your breast cancer and regain your health. Work closely alongside your doctor to ensure these solutions are the best for you. You want to lead a healthier life to beat this cancer and prevent other forms from turning up in the future.
