How to Get Healthier in 10 Minutes a Day

By Genevieve Cunningham

Even though we all want to be healthy, making it happen is a different story. The majority of people make the process much more difficult than it has to be. We think that we have to jump onboard the hottest new diet or buy that super popular workout program. And then we burn out and lose motivation, leaving us no better off than when we started. Instead of taking this route yet again, take a look at how you can improve health in just a simple 10 minutes per day.

Add 10 Minutes to That Workout

If you already work out, try adding just 10 minutes of high intensity training to your routine. This might be in the form of a sprint, hill climbing, a quick weight routine, or something else. This spikes the heart rate, burns more calories, ultimately helps burn off fat all in only an additional 10 minutes. And if a workout isn’t already a part of the routine, begin with a small 10-minute routine. Walk, swim, run, or do some sort of activity for just 10 minutes, and then add more from there.

Get Up 10 Minutes Earlier and Make Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and yet a great many people either skip it completely or reach for something quick and unhealthy. Instead, set your alarm for just 10 minutes earlier and cook yourself a healthy breakfast to start the day. That may not seem like enough time, but it’s plenty of time to scramble an egg, cut some veggies and blend a smoothie, or cook up a bowl of oatmeal. This 10 minutes of the day might feel like the hardest at first if you’re not a morning person, but it will be a span of time that pays off big in the long run.

Take 10 Minutes for Meditation

Most people are shocked at what a little quiet time can do for their health. We live in a world that is constantly on the move. We’re busier than ever, and both our bodies and our minds notice. At some point during the day, take those 10 minutes to sit in some silence and just breathe deeply and slowly. Try not to worry or fret during this time, but instead just relax. While this might feel challenging at first, it will get easier and easier, and before long, this will be one of the most enjoyable moments in the day.

It’s easy to believe that getting healthy is too time consuming or too tough to tackle at this moment in time. But it doesn’t have to be, and if you know what to do, it can truly be an easy process. Use these tips to boost health in just a few minutes a day, and before long you may find yourself in some of the best shape of your life.
