5 Ways to Fight Fatigue

By Virginia Laird

Is fatigue getting the best of you? Exhaustion gets everyone down at some point. As you age, exhaustion tends to get in the way of your daily routine. There is no need to let this problem get you down for good. Here are five tips to get your energy back and end your fight against fatigue.

The most important thing to do if you feel like fatigue is taking over your life is to rule out any diseases. Some disease can cause extreme exhaustion. If you are overly tired and cannot shake it, a visit with your doctor may be necessary.

Add Some Exercise

Exercise is vital to increasing your energy level. Research shows that adding an exercise routine at least three times a week is beneficial to your ability to stay motivated and enthused. It also helps your mood. Those who make exercise a priority regularly tend to be happier. Exercise also improves your overall health and stamina. The exercise you add can be as simple as a brisk walk. Adding just a little exercise helps both your body and mind have more stamina.

Increase Your Water Intake

Because your body needs water to survive, a lack of enough water will impede your body’s ability to perform. Making sure you are drinking enough water will allow your body to maintain its functions and allow your body to have the energy you need.

Get Plenty of Sleep

Like it or not, going to bed a little earlier can help. Sleep is important to your body and its function. Without adequate sleep your body cannot keep up and will have moments of pure exhaustion. Try adding just 30 minutes or an hour to your sleep and you will be surprised just how much that will help your energy level.

Lose a Few Unwanted Pounds

Carrying around a few extra pounds may not seem like any big deal but the truth is even a few extra pounds can slow you down. The more you weigh the more stress you put on your body. This can strip you of energy. Shedding just a few of those extra pounds can give your body a burst of energy.

Eat Frequently

Research shows as you eat smaller meals more frequently you are able to fuel your body. This outlook on eating allows for your body to avoid sugar lows and helps to balance your blood sugar. This will keep you full of energy and going all day.
