Breakfast Should Serve as a Base for Nutrition

By Tom Herrin

With  a lot of people having a greater awareness about nutrition today, one would think they would have more finely tuned diets.  That is not always the case, however, as many of them still eat out of reaction or habit. Doing what they have always done is the easier choice for most because it really is no choice.  If someone wants results in most things, they look at what it takes to produce the best results in the most efficient and economical manner. When it comes to meals, many don’t follow that idea at all.  Far too many skip breakfast because they just don’t feel like eating then. There is likely a right breakfast for everyone and all kinds of individual needs.

It May Help Diabetics

People with diabetes need regular schedules, particularly focusing on what they eat and how frequently they do so.  Any kind of starvation can be serious for them. Maintaining a balance in their diet is important. High fiber foods are highly recommended.  They need to take in a good supply of protein and avoid too many starches. The right kind or breakfast can help them to have what they need to help naturally regulate blood sugar as well as supply the vitamins and other nutrients they need.

It May Make or Break Cholesterol Concern

Those who may have a tendency for high bad cholesterol do themselves no favors by eating a high fat breakfast.  Eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, or anything such as these can add to problems that already exist. Choosing foods that are high in soluble fibers and lower in fiber can help to reduce LDL and limit the saturated fats and cholesterol that may contribute to serious problems.  Having a good portion of oats with breakfast may help to start off the day with help cleaning out some of those materials they simply don’t need.

It May Help Prevent Anemia

Too many people fail to get enough vitamins and minerals with their meals.  Many of these suffer from anemia. If we eat a breakfast that is high in these things we need, we are more likely to maximize our body's potential.  A good balance of nutrients may improve our iron absorption. I find that I am able to adjust my breakfast and meet most of my body’s basic needs. Finding the right kind of breakfast may go a long way toward maintaining better health.  Find a good one, and make it your own.
