Natural Treatment for Blood Pressure May Work

By Tom Herrin

In today's world, many people have made the decision to do whatever they can in order to avoid relying on long term medications.  At times, it is simply not possible, but a lot of people may be able to do a pretty good job of helping to address their high blood pressure without the use of medication.  So many of us are creatures of habit that we often come to accept the results of our poor choices.  We sometimes make the decision that we are destined to use medication to treat problems, such as those related to blood pressure, for the rest of our lives.  For many of us, it doesn't have to be the case.

Take off a Few Pounds

Most people would like to lose a pound or two if they could do so without any effort.  Once it becomes obvious that something needs to be done to protect health, they may get a little more serious about it.  The fact is that it does not take a huge effort, but it may require some kind of commitment.  Making some better choices ahead of time may be the ticket.  A few small things can add up.  It is important to remember that cutting 250 calories per day could mean a loss of about a half pound.  This may be accomplished by ordering a small burger instead of a regular one at some fast food restaurants.

Get Rid of Some Stress

Stress can do quite a few things to the body that are harmful.  One of the most common is raising blood pressure.  For those who insist on making all decisions themselves, turning some of it over to someone else may help ease the strain.  Learning to let go takes a bit of discipline, but it can make life much more bearable.  Simply deciding that all things are not critical may help as well.

Keep Track Yourself

If you feel that you may have issues with blood pressure, it may be a good idea to check it more often.  The home monitors are relatively inexpensive and easy to use.  I keep one at our home and check mine on a regular basis.  For me, it is a good way to keep tabs and make decisions about what kinds of things I can do to keep it on track.  The result has been that I have never had to take any kind of medication for blood pressure.
