I am a graduate of UWS Chiropractic School. I was born and raised in Gladstone until I was 10 years old when my family moved to Happy Valley. I attended Clackamas High School in the late 90’s, I was an 8X letter earner and OSAA All-State in 3 sports (football, wrestling, track & field). I was offered to continue my football career at the University of Oregon in the early 2000’s. I participated in 5 bowl games and 2 Pac-10 Championships. I graduated with a BS in Exercise & Movement Science with a minor in Strength & Conditioning. I started my work career in construction as a carpenter in commercial dwellings. I then accepted a job as a Safety Director for a mining and metal fabrication shop. I worked mostly with training employees and workplace injuries. I became an American Heart Association FA/CPR instructor and taught courses for several years. I spent 3 years as a safety manager on the Intel campus working closely with OSHA and worker’s compensation claims.
I left my job at Intel to pursue a career with Portland Fire & Rescue, who put me through EMT training, but ultimately, I decided to attend UWS and pursue my physical medicine degree. My hope is to be part of the healing solutions that so many people are in need of today. I am currently part of the NCAA litigation involving concussions. I have seen many athletes suffer from the lasting effects of contact sports. My biggest goal is to raise awareness of pain remediation without surgery and drugs and help everyone that I can in a more natural manner.
Dr. Marie Marler was born in California and raised in Washington DC. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. After graduation she lived in Japan for two years where she met her first chiropractor. He adjusted community members for free and she was able to watch while she waited her turn. She thought it was fascinating! Her interest in healthcare led her to a Master of Science in pharmacology from Georgetown University. During that time she felt concerned about the direction drug development was heading and decided to make a big change and begin chiropractic school. She moved to Portland and earned her Doctor of Chiropractic in 2016 from University of Western States.
While in school Dr. Marie met her match and got married. Her favorite thing to do, aside from helping patients attain and maintain a pain-free life, is spend time with her husband. They love to hike, grill and play board games of all kinds.
Dr. Marie knows that keeping the spine and joints moving freely will help keep people out of pain and maintain a higher quality of life. She became a chiropractor to help everyone she could get out and stay out of pain so they can do the things they love.
