Dr. Manon Lavoie, being a bit of a nomad when she was younger, completed her undergraduate studies in New Mexico, Arizona and Texas. She graduated chiropractic school at Parker University in Dallas, Texas in December of 1999. Parker taught many different adjusting techniques and helped enhance her understanding that every person is unique and should be adjusted as such.
Dr. Lavoie experienced her first chiropractic adjustment at a very young age and has enjoyed its benefits since. Her mother had been in a motor vehicle accident and since she was not yet in school, she accompanied her mom to appointments and periodically got adjusted herself. She understood the basic premise back then and as an adult only considered it as a career when she had an injury herself, refused the medication-only option presented, and as such, received a broader understanding of the spine/nervous system. She did experience quick results and returned to work much faster than anticipated.
Dr. Lavoie adjusted her son at birth and ensures weekly or near weekly adjustments are the norm for them both. She believes that regular chiropractic care is a big part of the reason she tested in the top 5th percentile in health for 30 year olds when she was 40.
Dr. Lavoie is dedicated to supporting you and your family’s wellness goals through chiropractic care. She knows the spine/nervous system is a great place to start since it communicates to your body how to function.
Dr. Marie Marler was born in California and raised in Washington DC. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. After graduation she lived in Japan for two years where she met her first chiropractor. He adjusted community members for free and she was able to watch while she waited her turn. She thought it was fascinating! Her interest in healthcare led her to a Master of Science in pharmacology from Georgetown University. During that time she felt concerned about the direction drug development was heading and decided to make a big change and begin chiropractic school. She moved to Portland and earned her Doctor of Chiropractic in 2016 from University of Western States.
While in school Dr. Marie met her match and got married. Her favorite thing to do, aside from helping patients attain and maintain a pain-free life, is spend time with her husband. They love to hike, grill and play board games of all kinds.
Dr. Marie knows that keeping the spine and joints moving freely will help keep people out of pain and maintain a higher quality of life. She became a chiropractor to help everyone she could get out and stay out of pain so they can do the things they love.
