Interested in Clear Skin? Try These Tips!

By Genevieve Cunningham

Clear skin. You know you want it. There's something about a smooth, soft appearance that is appealing to everyone. Unfortunately, many people struggle with maintaining clear skin, even far into adulthood. But why? What makes it so hard to find? Most of the time, it's our simple habits that keep us from keeping our skin as clear as possible. If you're interested in improving the health and appearance of your skin, take a look at these tips to try today.

Wash Often, But Gently

It's important to wash the dirt and grime and dead skin off of your face on a regular basis. This helps to keep the pores open, which helps eliminate buildup and acne. In most cases, the face should be washed both morning and night. But it's also important to be gentle on the skin. If the soap you use on your face is too harsh, it will have the opposite effect. Find a cleanser that is gentle on your skin and that works with your skin type. Then be strict with your washing practices, and you'll likely notice a difference in your skin's glow.

Moisturize and Use Sunscreen

Some people know that moisturizer is key to good skin, but moisturizer alone is not enough. Others understand the importance of sunscreen, but again, sunscreen alone is not enough. They key is to use both a good moisturizer and a strong sunscreen on a regular basis. Your skin needs both. Start with a good cleansing routine, follow it with a moisturizer, and once it's soaked into your skin thoroughly, cover your face in a sunscreen made for the face. It will take time to see results, but using this technique works on the skin long-term.

Drink Filtered Water

You may not think that filtering your water makes much of a difference  until you try it. Once you notice the effects of filtered water on your skin, you won't go back. Regular tap water contains all kinds of chemicals and sediment. And even though some of those chemicals are for our own good and for cleaning purposes, not everyone's body agrees with them. Try filtered water for just a few days, and you'll likely notice your skin taking on a beautiful, soft, supple appearance.

Clear skin is attainable. Sure, some people need the help of a dermatologist, but many others simply need to change their habits. Use these tips to get your skin moving in a healthier direction, and enjoy the boost in confidence that comes with your happy, healthy skin.
