3 Things That May Be Hindering Your Weight Loss

Losing weight is hard. If you’ve ever had to drop a few pounds, then you already know how difficult it can be. It takes so much self love and self determination to make it happen. And sometimes, we simply get in our own way. But how? If you’re having trouble dropping weight, take a look at these three things that may be getting in your way, followed by some tips for finally making it happen.

Stress

Stress is powerful. It can be powerful in a positive way, but more often than not, it’s powerful in a negative way. Stress can cause weight gain, irritability, moodiness, insomnia, and many other negative symptoms. It can also cause cortisol levels to rise, which makes it physically harder to lose weight. If you have too much stress, work to get this aspect of your health under control and the weight loss will become bit easier to do.

Lack of Rest

Sleep matters. It matters so much more than we like to think. If you’re not getting enough rest, your body goes into panic mode. What does this mean? It means your body will feel stressed and rundown and out of control. It means losing weight suddenly becomes all but impossible. It means it holds onto stubborn fat and won’t let go until your body feels safe … by being rested! If you’re not getting enough rest, make it a priority now. Once you catch up and your body feels refreshed, you may find the weight falling off like never before.

Lack of Routine

Routines are good for us. We sometimes don’t like to admit it, but routines help us stay on track and stay healthy. If you don’t have a routine, set one. Stick to a wakeup time and bedtime. Stick to certain meal times. Stick to a certain workout time. The more scheduled your day, the easier it is for your body to find the rhythm and to let go of that emergency fat that it thinks it needs.

Just because something is hard doesn’t mean that it’s impossible. And losing weight is both difficult and completely possible. If you’ve hit a standstill, do some self-reflection. Are these issues happening in your life? If so, make some changes! Use these tips to get your weight loss moving in the right direction, and feel better than ever in no time at all.
