Worried About Your Weight? Use These Tiny Tips!
By Genevieve Cunningham
Worrying about your weight is incredibly common. Since most people carry around a few extra pounds, extra weight is one of the biggest stressors and weight loss is one of the biggest goals among adults today. Losing weight isn't easy, and when we begin to worry and fret over the results, it gets even harder. But what can we do? We've tried it all, right? And nothing is working! Luckily, we haven't tried it all -- and it can definitely work! If you need help shedding a few pounds and moving in a healthier direction, take a look at these tiny tips that can get the weight loss train rolling.
Drink Water First
Most of the time, weight gain is the result of overeating. Sure, there are random illnesses and diseases that can also contribute to weight gain, but these aren't the case for most people. If you're overweight because of overeating, use this simple rule: Water first! Before you eat a meal, a snack, or a treat, fill your stomach with a glass of water. This will help you feel full, and you'll be way less likely to overeat. As an added bonus, this method also helps to keep you hydrated, which is better for your health in the long run.
Move 10 Minutes More
Even if you're already exercising regularly, you may need just a little more. But you don't have time for another workout, right? Luckily, it doesn't have to be anything so big. Just add 10 minutes to your workout. Instead of stopping at a half hour, work out for 40 minutes. If you're not currently exercising, add a simple 10-minute workout to your day. Walk, jog, go up and down some stairs. A simple 10 minutes might be all it takes to push you from maintaining your weight to losing a few pounds.
Buy Clothes That Fit
Sometimes we're not as overweight as we think. Maybe we only have an extra 10 or 15 pounds or so to shed. While we still want to lose that weight, it's not the worst thing in the world. While you're trying to lose, buy some clothes that fit. When our clothes are too tight, it makes us feel even heavier. And when we feel heavy every day, we're more likely to lose motivation. Buy clothes that you feel good wearing. Clothes that make you confident. This can help you feel good about yourself while you're working to lose those pesky few pounds.
Don't stress over weight loss. Don't stress over the scale. Don't stress over any of it! Just be consistent and patient and use these ideas in your everyday life. With the right tips and a little patience, you can boost your health, lose a little weight, and feel better than ever in no time at all.
