3 Habits to Start for Better Health

By Genevieve Cunningham

Improving your health is definitely something that you should consider making a priority in your life. Better health is one really important way to improve the quality of our lives. While most of us want to be in better health, many of us don't really know where to begin. And when we think about it, we get a bit overwhelmed. Luckily, it doesn't have to be so complicated. If you would like to get moving toward better health, take a look at these three little habits to start doing today.

Bedtime Routines

Many people are amazed that more sleep can improve your health in such a significant way. But getting enough rest is a crucial aspect of maintaining good health. And one of the best ways to get more sleep is to create a bedtime routine. This will probably include a bedtime, a wind down process, and some little things that you need to do to make you feel sleepy. This might take some time to develop, but if you're willing to put forth the effort, you'll probably notice better sleep and better health in very little time.

Nightly Walks

Walking is so incredibly good for the body. A great time to get in a walk is in the evening after dinner. Walking can help bring down our blood sugar levels, and it will help us burn some calories. This might make us feel better mentally, as we will be burning off the calories from the day and going to bed with a bit more fatigue in our muscles. Don't start out with too much. Just walk a simple 10 or 15 minutes, and your health will begin to improve a little bit every day.

Eating Greens

Some people have a really hard time eating enough greens. But the truth is that eating greens is nothing more than a habit. Green foods such as lettuce, kale, spinach, beans, and peas are all nutritionally dense and good for the body. If you want to eat more greens, start by adding some green food to just one meal per day. Perhaps add some greens to your dinner. As you get used to the flavor and texture of your new foods, add more. Over time, this habit will be one of the easiest things you do to improve your health.

Almost everything in our lives comes back to our habits, and our health is definitely no exception. If you want to improve your health, you have to improve your habits. Start with these little habits in your life. With a little bit of practice, they will become second nature and your health will improve like never before.
