Meet The Doctors

Dr. Philip Tyler, D.C. is a Chiropractor, Co-Clinic Director at Arlington Highlands

Dr. Philip Tyler joined The Joint Chiropractic in 2018 as co-clinic director for the Arlington Highlands location. Dr. Tyler, a graduate of Dallas Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, earned his doctorate from Parker University in 2014.

“The thing I truly love most about being in this field is helping patients live a life free of pain,” Dr. Tyler says. “It is gratifying being able to see the positive health effects of the chiropractic adjustment on others.”

Dr. Tyler grew up in Houston but moved to Dallas during his sophomore year in high school. He worked previously in Southlake and Richardson.

In his spare time, when he’s not tending to his cat Lily, Dr. Tyler enjoys being active: “Fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, working out, and spending time with family and friends.”

He loves being part of the Arlington Highlands clinic. “The patients and staff are what make this particular clinic so enjoyable to serve at,” Dr. Tyler says. Serving is one of those things that he really appreciates, and it plays into the circumstances that led him to pursue a career as a chiropractor.

“I had a friend who was a chiropractor who was a mentor to me,” he says. “He let me work for him while in high school and I fell in love with chiropractic and how it helps so many people.”

In Case You Didn’t Know …

Dr. Tyler says pickles are the food staple that he always keeps stocked in his refrigerator. “I almost always have a jar of pickles on hand at my house for a snack,” he says.

If he could share the joy of pickles at his ideal dinner party, Dr. Tyler would gather together Vincent Van Gogh and Nikola Tesla, film maker George Lucas, and early Christian evangelist Luke.

“I like inventors,” Dr. Tyler says. “I’m also the biggest Star Wars fan ever, and Luke was a very smart physician and wrote some books in the Bible.”

One of the coolest experiences in Dr. Tyler’s life was the year he spent living in Hawaii. “I learned to snorkel, scuba, and surf,” he says. “It’s my favorite place in the world.”

Dr. Jayson K. Morton, D.C. is a Chiropractor, Co-Clinic Director at Arlington Highlands

Dr. Jayson Morton joined The Joint Chiropractic family in 2016 when he became the local chiropractor for South Hulen. Dr. Morton has been providing chiropractic care since 2007, after receiving his doctorate from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles; he also received a bachelor of science degree in human anatomy.

Dr. Morton loves being out and about, and he’s perfectly comfortable being on the go. “As a chiropractor, I enjoy helping a patient get relief from pain,” he says. “I also enjoy the flexibility of practicing in an office setting or on a football field. I enjoy being mobile to help people.”

He was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, and has resided on both coasts: Los Angeles and La Verne, and Miami and West Palm Beach.

“I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids, especially on the open road in our RV,” Dr. Morton says. “Hiking, camping, and exploring the country are things we love to do. Our other hobbies include riding dirt bikes, playing sports, and watching the Dallas Cowboys every Sunday.”

Healthcare is pretty important in the Morton household, as wife Jessica is a licensed acupuncturist. “She is a brave stay-at-home mom with great patience that can tolerate the demands of being home with our daughter and two sons,” he says. “Her hobbies are similar to mine; she enjoys the RV life, not so much the dirt bikes, but has come to love the Cowboys like me. When she is not on duty with the kids, she is usually reading up on health news and constantly learning something new.”

Dr. Morton really loves the Cowboys and Texas; he has a son named Dallas, and a Hungarian Vizsla named Ladybird after the family dog from the Texas-based “King of the Hill” cartoon series. ”We are big fans,” Dr. Morton says.

He says he knew chiropractic was his calling after getting an adjustment. “I was suffering from tight muscles and subluxations,” Dr. Morton says. “Then a chiropractor adjusted me and I felt amazing. I truly believe in taking five minutes per week to get adjusted regularly will greatly increase the quality of your life.”

In Case You Didn’t Know

There are a couple of things that Dr. Morton will always have in his refrigerator: flaxseed milk and frozen bananas. They are necessary to mix his standard process dairy-free smoothie every morning.

Given the opportunity to dine with anyone in history, Dr. Morton’s dinner table would be pretty lively: he would like to sit down with Dallas Mavericks owner and entrepreneur Mark Cuban; Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones; radio talk show host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones; and Clarence Gonstead, who redefined chiropractic science.

Dr. Morton says the most memorable experience of his life was kayaking in the Florida keys: “My wife and I paddled all through the mangroves of the keys and got up close and personal with some amazing fish and wildlife.”
